what exactly is the girdle for?

I recall reading on gear drive cases vs chain strengh issues one issue with stock gear drive cases vs chain was the stock gear drive case wants to push apart under torque load even worse with low gears and the chain pulls itself together the cases like an atlas are made one piece so its not an issue...I skipped the junk yard case in favor of a new Atlas...lol...it was probably the only smart thing I've done on the build

I am going to weld some additional motor mount bushings to the girdle to help support the T-case.
