2009 MWC Pig Gig; Mark your calender!

whoa - this is sneaking up on me. Can't wait!

Just in case anybody wants to show up early, I'll be on vac. the 3rd & 4th also. There is also a small pond that might have some decent catfish in it, if you want to bring some poles. There is also access to the river away from the shooting area. JIM.

Fine by me. I'll warn the sheep :gag:.

Looks like we will be heading that way Friday afternoon after wifey gets off work. We will likely come about as far as St. Louis and then stay the night and head on over Saturay morning. That will help break up the drive since we will have our son with us. What time are ya all starting to show up? I am guessing we will have to leave @ 2-3PM on Saturday to head back and get home that evening. It is about a 6.5 hour drive.

We try to have the pig on by 8am. Pig is usually done around 1 or so.
Show up when you see fit.:D

Got the cooker out and cleaned up. It is all loaded up and ready to go.

Where are we at on getting a pig?
JIM is supposed to be contacting a few locals on this. I think we're going to get one that's ready to go straight on the spit. It'll save Jim and I alot of work. It'll cost a wee bit more but it'll worth it not to have the hastle.

So, this is a private pond that I won't have to worry about an out of state license, right?

Technically speaking........you need an out-of-state license to fish anywhere in the state.:D

As long as we don't get rowdy enough that the cops show up.......you should be fine. If by chance you do get caught,........you get caught.

That law is a bit different than here is why he's asking. If its on private property here its not mandatory to have a license. Illinois Sucks! :D

I wouldn't worry. The cops haven't showed up yet. I think they are scared:scared:. JIM.

I'm sure they have good reason to be scared. Our guns are bigger and we have more of 'em. :D I guess you could call us the MWC Army.

Yep. All water in IL is state owned in a communistic kind of way :D

The State doesn't own the water . . .

just our freedom.

You weren't using that, were you? :patriot:

Well, as long as the private body of water isn't fed by a public body of water. I.E. You can't fish without a license legally in a public river that goes through your private property. Or a spring fed pond on private property but the spring feeding is from public property...I kinda don't like this.

Only 3 things are asked of Pig Giggers.
1. Bring a side dish or something that the rest will use.
2. Eat pig
3. Make a donation(large or small) to cover the cost of the pig.

I'm going to start a new thread which can be found here.
