2000 xj transmission trouble

i was wondering if anyone knows or has had trouble with there transmission on 2000 xj's. last night i was driving home and stopped at a light, my shifter lights went out and the car would not move when i stepped on the gas then finnally it strated to move very slowely, i pulled over put it into park and then started again it was ok until i hit the gas hard and it wasnt cathing anymore. this morning when i started i checked the fluid and it looks a little high, i drove it hard a but and it seemed to be shifting better then b4. i dont think that the light going out was related to the problem but it is a strange coincidence. I also had the transmisssion fluid changed about 4 months ago, it was the 3rd time i ever changed it on this jeep and it now had 100K. if anyone has had this porblem or might knwo what it is please drop me a line...thankyou all for any help you can give me

Check engine light on? The first part vaguely sounds like a CPS failure but that would throw a code...

the check engine light did not come on and i used a computer to check to see if there were any codes it passed everything...i have been driving it hard for the last 2 days and it is shifting normal...i dont know..should just ignore it for now and see if it happens again??
