2 hours in Denver, what to do?

2hrs is kind of a tight schedule.

But just off-hand...

Visit a Brewery (Coors in Golden?)

Take a drive west up I 70 for the fun of it (Scenic).

There is a neat IceCream shop over by the Tech Center.

Travel to Central City for some gambling, just enjoy the air (OK, admittedly more than "a couple" hours), or the drive up the Central City Parkway.

What time of day or night might give locals a better idea what to offer :D

Yea, good idea Ron. It's mid afternoon that I'll be around. I had thought of finding a 4x4 shop to go shopping at if there was a good one to check out.

The brewery isn't a bad idea, but I'm flying in and driving home. Would be great if it was the other way around.....

If your driving back, the "short commute" to Central City or even Idaho Springs may not be overtly out of the way, besides, the scenery is nice :D
Tommyknockers makes some respectable beer. I haven't been to the Idaho Springs loca'l but I've had the beer.

I am trying to remember the folks a friend of mine worked for...ah yes...http://www.hcp4x4.com/default.asp
They are in Denver. Yahoo showed a couple more...

There is also this "new" shop, or atleast I just heard about it, Phat Jeeps, but they are over in Rollinsville.
Here is their site http://www.phatjeeps.com/

You could easily waste some time at Pull-N-Save..... close to the airport and you might find some Cherokee parts you just can't live without. Cheap too. But I suppose you won't have tools with ya.... I'd meet you out there, but this new jail schedule doesn't leave a whole lotta time for sleep between shifts.

And that shop in Rollinsville.... Phat Jeeps. Let's just say that isn't a shop you casually visit..... they don't take kindly to walk-ins they don't know.

That is a great idea. How many tools can I get on my carry-on? I could probably check my tool box like luggage.

I don't know, I leave Kansas at noon, figure that I should be landing a little after noon in Denver.

It's kinda an odd story, I'm going out to recover our Expedition. My wife and four of her co-workers had a hair show in Vegas that started Sunday night. They had a flight from Garden City KS to Denver, then on to Vegas. Snow canceled the flight from GC to Denver, the next available flight wasn't until Sunday night, and the airline wasn't sure yet if it was going to be a go or not. So my wife took the Expedition and drove with the four other ladies to Denver, leaving our truck parked at the airport. I being the loving husband, and looking for a reason to get out of town for even just a day, I got a flight to Denver to get the truck and drive it back home. So that when the ladies land at midnight Friday, they don't have to drive the 5-6 hours back to Kansas. They can just take their planned flight home. The airline gave me the ticket, so what the hell.
