found a website that says alot of the beach closes may 25th to august sometime so who thinks somewhere around april or may let me know what you all think before we set an actual date

ok where are you looking, you can go to almost anywhere on the outerbanks any time of year.

he's right, There are certain sections of the beach that open dduring the winter and close in the spring for turtle and bird nesting purposes. They normally close that part to vehicles thru the summer but there are also parts that don't close.

Just found a new place there too..... The Manteo bomb range!!!! Great for the mudders!!!

They close down alot of the 'highly populated areas' when spring/summer get near. For the most part, it's either Corolla north or Oregon Inlet south OR most of HI / OI once it gets warm. Last time I was at Oregon Inlet, there was a huge part shut off for a 'bird sanctuary'.
