1996 build but old body style 27 or 29 spline 8.25?

Got mine in July/August of '96 and it came with a 29 spline 8.25".

I dont know when my 96 was made but when i went to arb on my 8.25 i had to upgrade to 29 spline axles i think that there was 28 spline in there but they might have been 27 didnt care to count i just knew they were the wrong ones for what I needed

The 8.25 was updated sometime in '96 from 27 to 29 splines.

I have posted this several times before.On the axle there may be a paper/plastic band wrapped around the axle tube on the drivers side between the brake and spring.
A series of # 5206 9928 build date up to 5/15/95
5206 9234
5206 9604 build date after 5/15/95
5206 9606
These are 27 spline axles
#5209 8931 on a 96 will have 29 splines
To be sure open it up and count them.

So mine says 52069603. Am I to understand this has the earlier build date and therefore the 27 spline axle shafts?

Yes,same axle as is in mine.27 spline
