I am looking to trade my 1995 Wrangler to an XJ to better suit my needs/wants. It's in overall good condition, but it could use a couple things. I drive it everyday and depend on it to get me to work.
2.5L 5-speed 227k miles. Holds good oil pressure. Approx. 40 psi at 55 and approx. 30 at idle (operating temp.) Doesn't use or burn any oil that I can tell. Shifts pretty good and 4wd works.
It could use an exhaust manifold, the oil pan leaks a little (only leaves a dime size puddle if you park it nose uphill), one of the replacement cross-member nutserts is spinning, passenger fender has some rust and crudely patched, rust spots above the flare on same fender. Three or four quarter size rust spots in other areas, nothing rusted through. Top has some wear due to age.
Frame is good. Floorboards are good. Some rust was in the driver floorboard. It has been sanded, rust converter put on, painted with rustoleum flat black, and the a couple coats of Duplicolor Flame Red.
Some other things I have done are Warrior Gas Tank Skid, new straps, rear u-joints, transfer case extension housing with new bushing and seal, poly transmission mount, torque arm and bushings, master/slave cylinder, radiator cap, wipers, hood latches, tail lights, Warrior side plates, and new tires three months ago. I have receipts for most if not all parts.
I am looking for 97-99 XJ, but will consider other years as well. Trade only since it's my DD. Unless you make me an offer I can't refuse and give me a reasonable amount of time to find an XJ. I do have an eye on a couple.
