1993 ZJ 5-speed

Does anyone have any info on these? I found one that will be up for sale in the spring and it would make a good daily driver if the price is right. It's a base model with gray plastic around the bottom, 4.0, 5-speed, 4WD and D30/D35 axles. It also has factory gas tank and transfer case skids and tow hooks. It doesn't have many options, not even factory tinted windows. It's all stock, in really good condition and no rust. The owner didn't know exactly how many miles, but she said it's definitely under 100,000. Does anyone know what gears would be in the axles, what kind of trans the 5-speed is, and do the skid plates indicate some sort of up-country package like an XJ?

skid plates may be up-country (and a LSD rear diff comes with that) or some sort of "protection group." axles will be 3.07s and the trans is a AX15.

grab a xj hp30 with 3.55's or 3.73's..Bam upgraded gears and now your a high pinion vs low pinion! Ujoints vs the crappy Cv axles as well

For the rear find a d44a outta a grand with matiching gears to your front axle. Have fun 3.55's & 31's and a 5speed is 250 rpm betterthan factory 3.07's and 28's..so its like a cheapo regear.
3.55's and 33's is 75rpm better than factory 3.07s and 28's as well
