1 year old gasoline?

So... I'm preparing to start my Jeep after it's been parked for nearly a year. It's got a half tank of gas. I (unfortunately) didn't add any fuel stabilizer when I parked it.

Do I need to siphon the the tank and put fresh gas in? Is there something I can add to it? Should I top it off with fresh gas? Should I just run it?

Any advice is appreciated!

Dad had his Jeep sitting for about 6 months, and it wouldnt start because of the bad fuel. Siphoned the tank and it started right up.

Might be worth a shot to use the gas thats in it, but you might want to replace the fuel filter afterwords. Or just drain the tank and use new.

What I would do, (being cheap like I am) is drain the tank and save as much as I could. Then every tankful, add a gallon or so of old stuff until it was gone.

add some good fuel treatment to it, then like starboard said change the filter after you go through it. might as well change it anyway right? maybe get some good fuel and add it in there to "freshen" it up, rock the cab to woosh the fuel to mix it up. just an idea.

bulletproof! run it. when i worked at a junkyard we drained the fuel out of all the cars and got to fill up friday after work. never had an issue. but we did filter it before we used it, most of that gas was over a year old. youll be fine. can't wait to see it at PC for the M&G.
