Tried searching for this, but search kept omitting o2 b/c it was too short of a phrase.
jeep just took a quick dump in MPG. Spark plugs are new, throttle body was just cleaned, and I ran a can of BG44 through it a couple months ago, and there's no CEL.
Its got about 107K on the ticker, and from what I've read, a sudden drop in mpg is usually the o2 going out.
I'm going to give it another tank of gas just to make sure it wasn't a bad batch, but in the meantime, I want to have plan b figured out, which is replacing the o2.
since I have an 01, that means my 02 is way up front in my headers, right? There is not cat in the back. Are they a pain in the ass to change/access? Will I need heat? Would this be better left to a mechanic? If I take it to a mechanic, any idea on how much its gonna hurt my wallet? Is there a suggested brand to use?
I've also got a set of 784 injectors on the way, I'm thinking I should sort this mpg issue out BEFORE installing them?
