bought someones hackjob (in over my head)

With a project like this, I'd buy a welder and learn to weld. There is a lot of fab work that will need to be done, and it would be much easier and faster if you can do it all yourself, and not have to stop and take it somewhere for them to weld stuff for you.

6 inch long arm with 33's

It should be noted that tire size and actual diameter are different. I ran 32" TSL's and they were bigger then most 33's, where as at least, it used to be, a BFG was only about 31". So in other words, a 33" BFG or will probably look a lot smaller then a 33" swamper. Most manufactures list the...

    Differences in Crank Position Sensors?

It may or may not have a code 11 in it for a crank sensor. I have a snap-on scanner with all the adapters. I'm not going to look for a code, I'm looking for an RPM signal while cranking. If it does not have an RPM then it will help confirm my suspicion.

    G2 d44's from 4WheelParts

That's a great looking Jeep! Are you considering bumpers/winch or any of that stuff? Also, just curious, as money doesn't seem to be a big issue. Did you consider getting a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and maybe a small lift?

    Differences in Crank Position Sensors?

I was looking up at autozone and shucks/o'reilly both give 3 options. It's a 95, 4.0 auto. I'm not sure if it has OBD2 on it or not. I know it technically shouldn't but that there are some late 95's with it. I'm going to go pick up this jeep and it sounds like it needs a CPS. I was going to...

    Differences in Crank Position Sensors?

I'm just wondering what the difference is between CPS's. Three options come up when I search the parts websites, one says for manual, two say for automatic. Anyone know what the difference is?

    ruby T-case

He is installing Teraflex 2Lo as well. The case it's self is a direct bolt-in, but he is modifying first.

Set up is way more important then brand when it comes to noise. Most brands will be perfectly fine.

Auto 1998 XJ stuck in first gear

Re: Auto 1998 XJ stucked in first gear p0700 just means there is a code stored in the transmission. There is a whole list of codes that can be stored in the transmission. All p0700 is means is that the TCM is saying "Hey, we got a problem here" to the PCM. The code means nothing more. So...

Auto 1998 XJ stuck in first gear

Re: Auto 1998 XJ stucked in first gear P0700 is just alerting you to a transmission specific code. You should be able to retrieve a code directly from the transmission that is a little more specific.

Telling the condition of an axle outside of a rig?

Looks like everything is good. Although, apparently I stole the brake lines off of it for my past jeep, and a drum is missing. But I'd assume it's the same, as this is a non-c-clip axle and the Jeep is a 88. I guess I'll have to go get a piece of tubing and bend up a pair of lines.

Telling the condition of an axle outside of a rig?

I've been out of the Jeep game for a couple years now. But I've been thinking about fooling around with something cheap. I found a XJ that seems to be a decent deal that the rear axle is broke, and there is a little bit of damage to the brake. Well, I just so happen to have a Dana 35 that is...

    Ax Men

Re: Axe Men I caught it last night. I hadn't heard of it but the 10000 BC or whatever on right before it supposedly talked about the Mammoth site here in my town, and a girl I know was on it.... I missed that part, but kept watching Ax Men since it was based in Oregon. Pretty sweet show. I...

    Guitars and Cadillacs

There is no best wood. Everyone has a preference, as they all sound slightly different. Mahogany capped with Maple is the most common. Mahogany is generally dark sounding, and maple is bright sounding, so you mix the two together and get a pretty even sound. A lot of lower end guitars tend...

    Best Sliders?

I have AJ's super rails. He is stocking them as far as I know. So they ship right away, plus they were a lot cheaper to buy and to ship. You have to paint them yourself, but buy a can of primer and a can of paint, (I used lawn furniture enamel) you got maybe 15 bucks and an hour of time invested.
