We aren't talking about the size of the head of the bolt, but the bolt itself. 1/2" bolt has a 3/4" head, but it's still a 1/2" bolt.

Thanks Eagle. I'll pick up some M14 bolts when I go to return the 9/16" that I attempted to use in the first place. The threaded part fit in the joint just fine, but the shank of the bolt was just a little too big. These are RockKrwaler joints btw.

You might want to try a Goodyear hose whip. The have a swivel fitting on one end (what would be the tool end) and crimped fittings that don't blow off at both ends. I used the swivel at the compressor end to keep vibration and engine movement from loosening the fittings, and the hose has held...

Hey! Thas exactly what mine looked like before I started cutting. I ended up making a frame of some 2" tube I had laying around and raised the floor above the muffler/cat. I haven't had it out of the garage yet to see if it has changed anything heat wise, but at least the rattle is gone now.
