Mine is clamped and has several tack welds holding everything tight. I like the notion that if I do hit something hard enough the tacks will give way rather than the entire exhaust getting manged.

My advice is go with the HD leaves. My medium ones have sagged a bit due to the 100lb+- of crap that is in the back on any given day

Check the slip joint for grease. When it gets dry it sometimes has a tendency to clunk. Although this sounds like it could be the brake shoes as well.

The rears were actually front XJ flares flipped around and 3M taped on. They held quite well. And the front XJ flares are about 1.5" wider so it gave a little extra coverage. I eventually decided I was sick of having them bounce off every little tree and stick so they are gone lol. And thanks!
