ColoradoFest?

Soooo is ColoradoFest actually happening?

There's barely been any movement in the COFest Forum, no trails really set, nothing concrete on the campground, who's going, etc. etc. and it less than THREE WEEKS away.

I've got the time off and will have the buggy ready and present.

I'll be in Buena Vista and surrounding area wheeling either way...

I won't be running Carnage but if you've got room I'd love to ride along and run it.

Only the last 7 years, when you weren't there. You don't like it, you do it.

I'll see who all will be running (don't want to run alone). You might have to fight the GF a little but I'm sure she'd let ya ride for a while :D

Pffft...7 years...try 9 years :D

Fred I didn't mean any disrespect, more of coming in from say an outside Chapter's / someone lurking on NAXJA that isn't a member's point of view, there isn't much "material available" to really tell if it is happening, going on, etc.

I know its been more waning every year, but in the past trails schedules were set down before anyone got there, exact details of the campground, etc. Yes they were sometimes modified at camp, but it have people a good idea of when to get there for what runs (and if I remember right it used to run from Sunday to Sunday).

In all honestly, I very well might be willing to help take over/alleviate any duties that might need to be done next year (calling campground and negotiating, getting trails set with people, etc.) Seems I do it naturally anyway as a project manager

It sucks how "little" COFest has seem to become (though its been 9 years since I went, I've watched on here all I could). I know there are a lot of reasons for that, so next year I wouldn't mind throwing my hat into the ring to help promote it as much as I can (social media, other Colorado XJ forums, etc.) and maybe get some new blood into the Chapter or just more people in general to come to the event. It becomes kind of hard to promote to people when they ask for details like what trail runs will be run when...and I essentially have to tell them..."dunno when, just trails in general around BV".

I thought this was the year I would make the trip; life happens!

Sounds to me like you need to take over for me as VP. I'll make sure to nominate you in November when my term is up.

Justin, this was posted March 11. What is not clear?

We'll be at Chalk Creek this year.

http://www.chalkcreek-campground.com/

It's nice, with shade, picnic tables, and a great campfire ring by the creek.

I haven't worked out all the details as to where one pays. The rate they ask for is $10/night/person, but we are working on that.

We're planning on the usual dinner and raffle. We've talked about moving it to Sat. night. All input is welcome.

Saturday would be way better for the dinner ect! For me at least, and I'm guessing those that work that week, might be able to make Saturday night easier than Friday!
