Road to Big Bear CLOSED

Just read in the paper that highway 330 through Running Springs will be closed for road repairs through MID-JUNE.

Alternate routes are highway 38 from Redlands and highway 18 from the Lucerne Valley.
 
I always take the 38 through Mentone too. Much nicer drive. But I know the 330 is the way a lot of people go. And with it closed, you gotta figure that most of the traffic will be on the 38.

So if I'll be coming up the 215 from San Diego, pulling a small trailer behind my Jeep (stock tires & gears), am I better off taking the longer route East on 10 past Redlands and then up, or going up the 18 off the 210 & across past Arrowhead?
 
Cool, good to know. I'll go that way, then. I'm kinda thinking I'll take Thurs off, or at least take off work early, as I reserved for Thur - Sat. nights
 
So just to chime in, taking the 38 up isn't that far out of the way....I was just up a couple weeks ago for snowboarding. Even if you head to the 330, they just detour you down 30th street back to the 38. So no concerns about people getting screwed for not knowing....although I'm not sure why the detour people down 30th and not just keep them on the 210 to Waterman...but that's the states logic for ya. =)
