Yet another... Build thread for an xj on 40s and one tons in norcal

And it's not all uptravel. I prefer having droop to me my rig feels more stable with 3 inches of up travel 8 inches of down travel was quite nice on the offcamber ledges.

Ride height is in the middle of shock length. At 8" of lift the 40s still compress the prothanes the full 5" up. Im going to relocate the axle side shock mounts for more up travel and then dial in bump. Run em at 5-7 psi and see where that gets me. That includes messing with the rear leaves as well as building new rear packs

A guy I wheel with has 40s and 4.5 inches of lift on his rig. It works amazing and with 12 travel shocks flexes quite well. On the road it was decently behaved. Perhaps try around 5 inches of lift.

there is no budget right now (stroker killed that) so its just getting a new 40/13.5/17 pro comp to replace the ripped one. And:

New rear main leaves (i have one last set of MJ mains that are matched and fresh)
Relocate front shock mounts for more up travel
new rear spring perches
new rear shock mounts if needed
center front axle
cut and relocate trackbar across frame brace(mount hits drag link under compression)
get driver coil 1/2" outboarded to clear the frame rail
I would consider trying out a 3.5-4.5" coil in the short run up front to bring the front down

Over winter possible changes:
37s on Beadlocks
3.5" coils
3.5" leaves
remove shackle drop brackets

Cut that trackbar crossbrace off
Was killing the drag link

More shock up travel with new lower shock mounts lower and further out

Less bump
Added limit
Straps

Getting this mounted

Actually have an air gap and much much more uptravel

Id like to hit either barret next weekend with josh or con with you the weekend after or both.

Stroker porn:

Now you're talkin bro. Are you doing a 4.7?

I had kenmoth machine build the motor. They are awesome.

Its a 4.6 with a custom russ pottenger cam and russ also put chevy LS valves in the head and fully Ported the head. The port job alone he says will add 30-40hp. Im going to also open up a 99+ intake manifold to match the porting .

Not sure if ill need new injectors since i already swapped in higher flowing
Injectors at one point. probably need a wideband o2 though and maybe reflash the ecu maybe not. I already have a bored TB and K and N intake

Definitely need to port n Polish intake if not the ported head is useless! Coming back to sac next weekend and I'm definitely going to spend some time helping you wrench lol

How's this for an intake?

My wj averaged 18.5-19 mpg going to cupertino and back in bad traffic for long sections. Really digging the wj. I bet with some little work it could get 20mpg in no traffic and maybe a intake. Especially being a v8...

Welded bungs in for BF joints to ditch the lca bushings frame side. One warped. Sleeved 2 arms to make it happen tonight. Ugh. It never ends.

Went to fordyce yesterday with mike.

Comittee is very low at the moment
