What I learned at WinterFest 2013

1) Winterfest is a blast even if you don't bring your rig!
2) Doors and heat make winter wheeling more comfortable.
3) Justin like to burn things!
4) As many times as I have wheeled the badlands there are still trails that I have not run yet.... And next year the brave will have a chance to be second on it!
5) Barbie Jeep racing is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on!

No matter how many times I'm at the BL's and even if I pre-run it the day before Orange confuses me.

Leading Orange is getting easier every year.

If you're a 3rd shifter staying awake all day is really tough.

An F250 with a 460 can get to Attica from WI in about an hour less than a bus.

An F250 with a 460 doesn't get much better fuel mileage than a diesel bus.

Sleeping in the back of a friends trailer will get you a "wake up call" in the middle of the night, complete with a blast of cold air.

Sleeping in a bus is better than sleeping on the floor with a completely flat air mattress.

I cannot attend WF without breaking something or several things.

A BMFL Custom drive shaft can support the weight of my Jeep, the pinion yoke and u-joint are another story.

A V8 has enough HP to rip an axle truss off your axle.

JJ hangs out with crazy but hot women when not in Attica.

No matter what you say to the girls JJ hangs out with they will not be able to wait to meet you.

If you lend out your Jeep for someone to make a parts run be sure to fill them in on any tricks required to start it.

You can toss the keys to your truck to a MW chapter member you barely know and get your truck back, as you gave it to them no less.

When someone says "I let him drive my car" it doesn't really make you feel any better.

Somehow, no matter how many times you say no, and no matter how much you already know it is a bad idea, your daughter can talk you into going down a steep hill in a Barbie Jeep.

Healing takes longer as you get older.

No matter what stupid sh*t I do at WF I do more the next year. Which really means, I never learn anything at WF. :gee:

It's never too early to throw some couches in a fire unless you are sitting on them.

Hamburgers should be served in briefcases with a side of pepto.

If you're too drunk to get out if the tent keep a hat handy.

It WAS a raccoon at some point.

People like us even though we are very offensive.

We still haven't been banned from Naxja

This is my family.

I learned:

XJ guys are jealous of TJ guys.....:D

NAPA in town doesn't carry anything even though there is an offroad park 1 mile away.

TJ's can't climb 6 foot ledges for shit.

An old worn out 96 454 suburban can pull a trailer with a jeep and a comanche with realative ease.

The TJ needs a wheelbase stretch.

BMFL is a damn good guy ( I owe him some drive shaft parts)

Heat in a rig on WF is awesome.

MTR's w kevlar is a damn good tire.

My 4 yr old hates wheeling.....gonna have to figure this one out.

I love WF and can't wait to do it again next year.

-I love the MWC.

-I had one hell of a time.

-Watch out for puke all around the tent when your partying with us Empire guys.

-I went to WF ready to party and beat on my Jeep hard.

-Next time I'm bringing even more stuff to burn!

-I like my new tires and was impressed with my Rig.

-5 guys in one tent is interesting when everyone is drunk.

-JJ is awesome.

-There is rules around the fire at WF.

Oh, it has a 460, that explains the gas gauge moving as fast as it does. It did sound awesome though. As for the Jeep, When I got back in it at Napa when it was closed, I turned the key and nothing. I was like crap, what did I do?

I found out about Napa last year. I think Big Red blew a flexible brake line. That was the first place we went to get one. They gave him a hard line. Even my untrained eyes didn't think that would work. This year, they did have an alternator earlier in the day when I went there (they were closed, but the owner showed up and said they sold it earlier). Carquest will open (or would last year) if you knew how to get a hold of them if you need parts when they are closed. WF is awesome, I don't know if I will make it next year or not because of wedding stuff. I hope if I can't wheel I can at least come to the banquet, buy raffle tickets and bon fire.

Don't take a nap with macgyvr near by.

Every year I learn a few new things:

People will follow me on a trail that you can't walk down with getting a face full of brush.

BMFL is really a good guy, despite his politics.

BMFL's daughter is a great accomplice.

My wife can get drunk, then sleepy in 30 min.

My wife can pee while sitting on a trailer tongue, in the bitter cold.

The endangered dirt in Moab is actually a soil.

Flex can drive a trail, better then he can walk though the parking lot.

Dan is color blind.

Seeing Mac and Dan with babies will bring tears to my wifes eyes.

Some of the things I post online can inspire people.

My winch is slow, but it does not drain my battery.

My winch works better when I self bury my Jeep in the sand.

At 49 years old, I can still drive a Barbie Jeep down a hill.....almost.

I take longer to heal after driving said Barbie Jeep.

The "Women of the MWC" bikini calender NEEDS to happen.

I can forget a guys name 3 years in a row, but remember a woman's name the first time I hear it (yea....I am a pig)

Everyone in Attica knows each other, and they all look forward to WinterFest.

Eagle Nest is booked again for next year already.

Sgt Mack can build a cabin at WF, before checking to make sure he has power.

Jenny drives much better then Nate.

My wife loves Apple Pie Moonshine....a bit too much.

BMFL still cannot remember to bring stuff.
A rush of cold air can wake BMFL
JJ knows some very weird women.
An XJ can breakdown on the way to Red trail.
The military can shorten your leave. (had to miss Saturday fire :(
Jack and diet pepper taste pretty good
a TJ can't do the same hills as an XJ
As seen on TV does not stop trailer leaks.
A white Ford looks better than a red bus
Custom shit still breaks.:wow:
JJ should run for president

Something else I learned at WF, if I camp, I want to build something like Sgt. Mack had (like Rev. said). Shouldn't take too much to build and assemble (4x8 sections of wall with insulation in them).

Ha! Milk and Oreos and Dan gets a Big Mac for dessert!!!

Looks like we need a WF After Party thread that takes a password...

Like the idea.....wonder how many pictures I will be in......

Ram" Saturday bonfire is awesome" Rod
