Hello fellow XJ enthusiasts, my name is nick (aka sheepinajeep). I want to say hello to everyone, and I suppose introduce my "rig". I grew up in San Jose and I'm still local. I recently got into 4wheeling in 2016 when I picked up my brothers 88' Cherokee for a cool $300, pick n pull transmission included ! Since then I've installed the trans, added a headliner and use it as my daily driver.

I know there's a San Jose team that's met a few times in summer 2016, maybe one day I will catch up. I'm hoping to do the usual lift, tires, bumpers upgrades but for now she's stock and beautiful! I will see everyone in the threads!

-Nick

PS, I have some cool pics of my summer 2016 rostrum to Arizona, Vegas, pismo and back if anyone's interested. I'm not sure where to share that...

Welcome! Hope we see ya out on the trail!

Pinoy59:
Your Jeep is twisting up quite nicely. I'm pretty sure when I rolled through that part I landed on my trailer hitch/ tank skid plate. That nearly shattered my arse! Broken arrow was my first trail and I was amazed I made it through. Pretty sure I slid the entire way down the devils steps!

Welcome! I have quite a few parts that could get you going and I'm in sj/sant Cruz area
Is 12bravo your brother? He has my number if you want to get it from him

Thanks it's nice to have so many welcome wishes, including yours. Oh cool I'm off hwy9 halfway between Los Gatos & Saratoga downtowns. I'm trying to scrape cash in the jeep fund so it would be wonderful if we could sell/trade in the future. Yup 12bravo is my bro!

I took my wife and kids one time and my wife was freaked out when the hitch drug going through that first big crack. She also screamed at me going up an optional hill and everyone in the pink Jeep tour jeeps heard her. She also got out for devil's staircase. Lol At least I had fun. :)

Ok I might as well share my trip since it sounds like a few users have been. My wife and I had a blast and I hope others may enjoy what I can share.

We started our road trip in the San Jose area late at night. After stopping for gas in San Martin. I encountered a no start situation that lasted 1.5 hrs. After driving through the night we found ourselves stopping by Route 66.

If you stay in Sedona, you will find that there are lots of trails just outside of town. The pink jeep tours use em so they can be busy. As mentioned, we took the Broken Arrow trail. Not even 20 minutes outside of town.

As you can see at the corral point, well used.

We met another couple on the trail who were avid crawlers on their own road trip. They were nice enough to let us follow them in and assist in the tricky parts. Gotta love the 4x4 community!

That's about it. I was having too much fun to worry about taking a zillion photos. Other than the huge crack right before devils steps, the stock little jeep did it all! I'm sure glad the first owner opted for extra skid pans at the dealer way back in 88'.

And of course the typical Sedona touristy things, like Grand Canyon, horseback riding, slide rock "water park", etc.

leaving Vegas my idler pulls froze on the freeway. Luckily the belt didn't brake and I had a spare pully.

Why? Then we headed back to California via Pismo beach to meet up with some friends.

For the aspiring 4wheeler like myself: Get out there. You don't need 33s and a sweet 10000 lumen light bar to have fun. Take help and advice when you can, be a good neighbor yourself. Oh, and pack some jerky 👍
