Five things that make your junk, junk.

4. Rusty floor pans.

5. Rusty bolts...every last one of them.

And no, not Rusty's the company. I'm talking about the "other" junk.

It simplifies things for me, and is affordable for me unlike the other option.
More affordable than continuing to run the current setup? You know, the one it was designed with? It shouldn't be very expensive to find some used control arms or build some...

1) driveway looks like the Valdez wintered here.

2)spare parts accumulating to the point that I can't fix anything, because I can't find anything on my bench (or my bench).

3)seized hardware keeps me from changing out the few new parts that I can find.

4)even sketchy hitchhikers wave me off.

5)it smells like an ashtray, wrapped in a sweaty sock, at the zoo.

1. rust.... it grows faster than I can fix it
2. dents....wheeling in the northeast ;-)
3.leaks...fix one get another

5. Replace the oblong track bar mount so the front end can no longer move.

  1. Steering gear likes cold weather about as much as I do so it needs replacing
  2. Figure out why I only get 11 mpg and fix it
  3. Replace busted front trim pieces
  4. Upgrade to GC brake booster to fix crappy brakes

1. It starts with the letter J
2. Has an E as the next letter
3. The 1st E was not good enough so let's add a second E.
4. Ends with the letter P and that ryhmes with T and that speels trouble.
5. Has a dead battery.

I guess I'll replace the battery this winter, not much I can do about the other four.

re-install R. R. Flare(scraped off)
replace rear bumper(dented/bent)
replace front bumper(dented/bent)

or,..
Install OME rear springs(sitting in shop)
Install V-8ZJ front springs(sitting in shop)
Install V-8ZJ tie rod(sitting in cargo area)
Replace valve cover gasket(sitting in living room)
Replace L. R. shock(currently missing)

Decisions, decisions,... can't make up my mind.

I vote tie rod, I was semi afraid I wouldn't do it right, turned out to be very easy and I should have done it a long time ago.

1. NP231 when there's an Altas in the garage
2. Nasty stock seats when there is a Beard in the guest room and another in the garage
3. "I don't care how it looks, it runs"
4. Taillights zip-tied to rusty tube
5. Fuel pump ground wire vise-gripped to rusty tube

Phil, #5 amazes and scares me.

It was way cool when the cooler slid over, and knocked the vice grips off, and the engine died... when we were hauling ass on an icy road and needed to turn!

1. Keeps breaking fan belts
2. Scary recent front axle issues (double u-joint failure on mild trails the same day)
3. Left rear door actuator doesnt always work
4. Aux backup lights that work 50% of the time (pep boys cheapos)
5. Leaks... t-case, oil filter adapter, power steering

1. Random belt squeak that comes and goes as it pleases
2. Rebuild front end (have a messed up UCA that rattles and makes so much noise)
3. Get another NP242, throw a HD chain in it, along with a HackNTap
4. Put said NP242 in Jeep to replace the currently toasted one
5. Lift the front to match the rear

That ain't right.

Have you checked your idler pully and the fan clutch spindle (on the AC bracket)?

Yeah, everything was spinning free, fine and straight last time this happened.

Being 1500 miles away I won't be able to diagnose it anytime soon. Pretty sure my trans mount is shot, and my harmonic might be going out.
