1965 Powerwagon

I’m posting this nice 65’ Powerwagon up for my brother. I’m sure he’d be interested in trading for the right CJ, YJ or TJ. This description is his:

“Im the second owner of this beauty. This truck was my daily driver for 2 years. I don’t need to sell her, but I’m looking for a more family oriented type 4 wheeler.

This is a 1965 W200 with a long bed. The first part of ’65 they used the dual headlight setup from ’64 before switching to the single light in the pie pan look. Dana 44F axle in the front from the factory with Warn locking hubs. Spicer 60 in the rear. Poly 318 with 136k original miles. Original owner said it had the heads rebuilt and a paint job in the 90s. Paint looks like a 20 year old paint job.
The only cancerous rust is on the bottom corners of the doors and the bottom lip of the hood (see pics) also on the pass side floor pan where the body mount is. Speedo needle locked up and snapped off but all the other gauges work properly. The seat needs recovered but I have a cheap cover that works for now. That's all the bad.

Fires right up and drives like a champ. Does 0 to 60 in a blistering 3.5 minutes……. The 4 wheel drive works awesome. New black steel rims with 33" mud terrains with less than 1,000 miles on them. No cracks in the glass. Seatbelts weren't ordered from the factory so you just hold on real tight. The steering is really tight and it tracks very straight. Cruises down the freeway no problem. Just been tuned up. This rig gets lots of attention.”

$7000 or best offer
Located in Sisquoc California, about 35 minutes south of Pismo.
Please email my brother Aaron at: [email protected] if interested in it.

Thats right near me. I can check out that truck for someone if they want. We actually have several farms right there in Sisquoc, so I'm out there all the time. Only 15 mins from my shop.
For what its worth.... Those tires suck. I bought a set for my truck July 2011. Last month I bought a set of Yokohama ATS. The Hankooks lasted 20k and were gnarley on the road. This looking like an old ranch truck means those tires are great for just that. They do exceptional in the mud in our fields, just not pavement friendly.

*EDIT* Ben, does your brother farm? *EDIT*

a stockish 65 pickup for 7000$ ? or is it supposed to be 700$ ? do these old power wagons really sell for that much? I guess I don't see it.

Test drive to Swamp Lake?

Whats up G, its been too long man. You'll have to give him a call for that test drive. It wouldn't surprise me if this truck has been up Swamp before in its prior life. Back in the day, Swamp Trail used to be a good quality logging/mining road, damn near a freeway. I know you like these old trucks, so you should buy this one, I'll even throw in a couple cases of wine just for you

He lives out on Rancho Sisquoc, with my sister...thats where I grew up. He used to farm for Adams Bros, but now he does sales for Cal Coast Machinery. Thanks for making yourself available to look at the Dodge. Who do you farm for? You do berries or veggies? I was just down there two weeks ago appraising a handful of ranches in Guadalupe and out on Betteravia.

The next time I'm in town we'll have to meet up and have some beers, or the next time you are in Fresno.

Price is $7,000 and based on some comparable sales/listing prices. Like the ad says its OBO and the price has to start somewhere.

And yes, its pretty much stock, other than the tires/wheels...which is often a price driver/appeal for these types of vehicles. It may be overpriced, it may not be. Also, we recognize that this can be expected to be marketed for up to a year, this is not a fire sale, he is not in dire need to unload it. But he is motivated to sell it. It can also be very difficult to effectively price a 50+/- year old collectible vehicle and although the value may not be there for you, the value could be there for someone who is really into these Powerwagons...perhaps even just for parts.

But otherwise thanks for your price comment...its always a very helpful thing to do to a for sale thread...Thanks a bunch.

I was quoting the movie the jerk....Its funny as heck, had Steve Martin in it, great movie. Some of the best movie quotes ever from that movie... Didn't mean for you to get angry or anything. If you had seen the movie that quote would make you laugh. I love power wagons, they are cool as hell. Growing up dads best friend had a 40s power wagon, military one or something, thing could wheel like crazy. they are cool as hell. and ill part out anything for the right price as long as its a lifted, locked, and geared XJ on at least 35s and no dana 35s haha. although i plan on buying one of those craigslist F350s with driver drop kingpin 60 for under 1000$ one of these days. I figure i could end up with a HP60 driver drop for free ....i see em all the time.

Ahh XXXX and here I was thinking you were being a jerk! I just saw that movie again a few weeks ago too...from the carnie scene. And the "Navin I'd love you if you were the color of a baboons ass" Its all making sense now. Sometimes I'm dense and get all butt hurt. I kinda feel like a dick now, but only just a little.

ya sorry about that. I have a problem of accidentally offending people sometimes without trying, a lot like the Jerk, thats why i thought it would be funny to quote it ... I like the wagon, if you're not in a rush to dump it you'll get exactly what you want for it, its in really good shape for a 65.

Got my jeep so now I'll possibly trade things that go boom plus cash money? Also have the stock split rims and tires and original oil bath air filter. :spin1:

See you in about 10 days for some of that magical elixir you make.
