well looks like Ben got his junk Ford problems figured out. now its time to rant, vent, and complain about mine.
06 F150 5.4 3v 103k miles
known cam phaser issues. finally get the time and money to bring it to the shop for repairs, tune up, and little truck love. expecting a price tag of around 3k by bthe time its done.
shop calls back, said the motor, cat, and intake gaskets are all shot. parts and labor round up to about 10k for repairs.
not good.
i call up another guy i trust and talk with him about it. says he would do the whole job for 6500
better, not good.
mind you, i still owe 9500 on this truck, with 3 years left on the note, and a 300/month payment.
needs 4 new tires and there is a possible rear end issue going on.
the front tires are bald on the inside only, leading me to believe it also has a control arm/ball joint issue.
this all puts me paying around 18-20k for a truck wroth 7k
not good.
trade in on something else means i have a $9500 roll over which is preventing me from going used because even with my good credit i will not likely get approved for a loan with that high of a roll over.
priced out 2017 demo's in order to get the best deal on new and they are still way over what my budget can swing.
