Important

Let me walk you through the process for purchasing a gun in Indiana.

Pay for gun, wait for store to do background check if you don't have a carry permit (usually about 15 minutes and free, good time to look around for next purchase), then once it clears, you walk out with your gun. That is it. The only time you have to pay a fee to have a weapon is if you are wanting an full auto gun. Then it is 200 dollars for the permit.

For transporting any fire arm in Indiana without a permit, just have the ammunition up front and the gun in back unloaded and locked in case. If you have a carry permit, you can get a fire arm with no waiting for background check as it was already done.

Real quick... YOUR LAST SENTENCE IS 100% INCORRECT. some other details to follow.

-Store does National Instant Background check (NICs Check) no matter what. This is the yes, no, or hold. A hold is not an exact amount of time. It could be a few hours or even a few days.

-Indiana issues a LICENSE because it's your right to carry. They are not PERMITting you to carry. You are born with the RIGHT and you can lose the RIGHT.

-ZERO, NO, NONE, 0, License To Carry a Handgun (LTCH) is required to make a handgun or long gun purchase. You have the right to transport the tape/stapled package to your home or place of business. Nowhere in the NICS check is a LTCH required or beneficial. Having a LTCH will only bring a little peace of mind to the store owner/employee.

-DO NOT transport a firearm unless you are taking it to a gunsmith, or gun store. Many Police officers are nice about this and will tell you keeping them separated is okay.... it is not okay. I am glad there are nice LEO's but that does not guarantee you will get an officer who does it all by the book... If you do need a gunsmith (place of repair) or gun shop then put the handgun out of reach and you have ZERO reason to need any ammo. I think there is some interstate travel law, but I haven't looked into it.

The law last year actually allows you to transport to and from a shooting range (unloaded, ammo separate, and gun out of reach).

Indiana's new handgun law goes into effect next week. It allows people to carry a handgun without a license under the following conditions:

- if they are on their own property
- it it's unloaded in their vehicle
- if a handgun is carried to a shooting range for an instructional course or during legal hunting
- or if the handgun is unloaded and securely wrapped.

I have talked to a few friends who are police officers about the transportation of gun laws and remember when this law was enacted (I work at a tv station and remember the story on it).

I stand partially corrected.... Sorry Midwest to keep hitting you with this garb but keeping it correct is critical.

Indiana Code: Snipped portion.

(3) the person carries the handgun in a vehicle that is owned, leased, rented, or otherwise legally controlled by the person, if the handgun is:
(A) unloaded;
(B) not readily accessible; and
(C) secured in a case;
(4) the person carries the handgun while lawfully present in a vehicle that is owned, leased, rented, or otherwise legally controlled by another person, if the handgun is:
(A) unloaded;
(B) not readily accessible; and
(C) secured in a case; or
(5) the person carries the handgun:

(A) at a shooting range (as defined in IC 14-22-31.5-3);
(B) while attending a firearms instructional course; or
(C) while engaged in a legal hunting activity.

The Hank has spoken. If you need to know indiana's gun laws, he knows them or knows someone who does. I know some of them(the ones that keep my ass legit while packing) but he can explain them! :D

as much as you can. shorter = better.

i measured the depth of the spines in the flange, and left that much on my output shaft.

did you get a RE H&T flange? what drive shaft are you going to run?

if your using the stock shaft from an auto, im curious to see how much of the slip shaft you have exposed once you add the flange adapter. thats what i used, and my AX-15 is supposed to be shorter than your AW4.

OK, and yes RE. And yes stock auto shaft. Ill show you a pic of my shaft buddy, hell if I'm feeling frisky ill post it on here!

Hmm here in missouri ammo is available to anyone old enough with $

my buddies all shoot assault rifles and one of my friends dad has licensed automatics.

And i was told i can carry loaded on Private property including inside my car.

I have been pulled over maybe 4 or 5 times with it loaded in my car and after immediately and respectfully declaring i am carrying a weapon have never been bothered by a L.e.o.

Being as i spend a lot of time in the car or on private property i don't bother to get a Concealed carry permit.

I also lived in east saint louis (illinois) and was never bothered about my gun (they probably just knew i needed it in that area) and saw older guys at the store carrying in plain site that didnt seemed to get bothered.

I bought my ammo over the river in MO. the way i see it is thats a minor inconvenience bevcause if you pass the background check at the gun store for the weapon you will pass for the ammo card as well.

Normally a quick call for the background check and you can be out the door with your gun in minutes.

dont end up like Scrazzle Dazzle.....

RIP buddy....
QFT!

I don't have to have a FOID. In fact, I had to google it. I loved how in Indiana I could walk into a gun store with cash and walk out with a firearm. Here in Wisconsin there is a 2-day waiting period on hand guns but no wait on long guns.

Personally, I don't really care what their methods are as long as they keep guns out of hands of people who shouldn't have them.

the problem with IL is the people you don't want having them are not buying them from gun stores.

Keep your eyes peeled for the June issue of fourwheeler magazine coming out this week!

Hey guys, need to rack your brains. My buddy's 96 XJ is acting stupid.....again! He was driving down the road and somehow his 02 sensor wire got wrapped around his DS. The jeep also died right after that. He wired it back together but now it will crank and crank and crank but no start. He changed the cam sensor and the CPS twice and still nothing. Someone has it in his head that maybe the chain jumped a tooth and threw it off. I'm leaning toward the computer. His fiance also has a 96, is it ok to try and swap out the computers to see if thats his issue?
