Speed By Spectre

Price? Id rather know before I call.

I have No Clue. My Tow Vehicle is a 1977 Chevy "Big Ten" (over sized frame, f44 susp, BIG brakes, 12 bolt semi floater, LS9 350 and no cat cons) and They wanted it to engineer a new intake for the 73-87 C-10 trucks, because it has all the options except Power Windows. So it has everything under the hood that might get in the way. The Jeep intake was a "Gift" for allowing Them to keep it longer.

Also im not familiar with the area its pulling air from. Is it susceptible to water?

That area is an "Air Box", it's for Your fresh air intake for the interior of the Jeep. It has drains to keep water out of there.

I looked under the cowl again, think I'll fab something so I can install a pre filter there at the intake. That way the fresh air for the cab will also have the fine dust filtered out.

Mine was shipped from Customer Service, They have been in stock about 8-9 days now. I'm sure their WebMaster will be getting around to it soon.

I like everything about this except their choice of filter. I'll take an AEM Dryflow over oiled anyday......

It's a "true" cold air intake though and I'm sure it does just as good if not better then the K&N FIPK, that aluminum on the spectre is thicker then you think and it frees up a ton of room in the engine compartment -and you could call it a half snorkel but if you were in water over your hood youd have bigger problems I'm sure...

Looks like the filter area is small, too. So it's a choice between effectiveness and flow.

Curt and I were curious about the CFM's, and they were listed on the box as a graph. If I had a fire breathing, head ported to the hilt with oversized valves, 10.5 to1 pistons and an untethered exhaust, I'd agree with You. But on My XJ with a stock 4.0 HO I have felt no performance difference.

But I respect Your right to find fault in anything You want. :)

Looks like the Renix one is available online.

Could they have picked a dirtier vehicle for their file photo?

I know , Huh. LOL George (engineer) was complaining about that when We showed up in Our XJ & the Truck to drop off. He wanted to see under the hood of Our XJ. (I'm Anal) We had just got back from TDS, so in these pic's mine is a little dirty.

This looks like just about exactly what I have been wanting to put in mine. I wish it were available black powdercoated though, I'm not too fond of chrome or blingy looking parts.

It's a bummer the Renix and TJ models are CARB approved and that the 91-01 XJ is not at this time. Also whats so great about the 91-01 model that makes it $100 bucks more than the Renix and TJ models....?

Kinda answered Your own Q there, there just coming out now and the CARB E is in the works. It says to check the site to see when it gets the CARB exempt #

Maybe they are charging more because they went to all aluminum, and the fit was scary correct. Even the bracket on the passenger side firewall with that Vacuum thing on it, had enough (1/32") room not to relocate. I don't know...Ask Them.
