Specs:
1988 ZJ Laredo
Auto, Straight Six(94,XXXmi)
Dana30/35 3.54:1 gears
Problems:
1.) Rear tires seem to slip on everything. It is a open differential, but not even my XJs dana35 slips this much. Turns, gravel, wet and dry roads. I have checked the fluid level and replaced it and still slips. The wheel bearings are new and there is no leakage.
2.) Steering wheel has a bit to much play in it. The front axle is a replacement since the old one was totalled in the accident. Everything fit up and was professionally installed. But the wheel seems to have some play in it, if going in a straight line the ZJ will slowly merge and you have to adjust. Also their is maybe 1/4" of play in the wheel where the tires wont engage. I have yet to check anything out yet, but tomorrow Im going to lift it up and check all the linkages, and also the steering shaft for play. I dont know what could be causing this...
Those are the two newest problems as of now, everything has slowly started to fall apart on it since the accident. As for what happened during the accident the front axle was bumped over a good three inches and screwed up pretty bad, and the rear axle was just tapped as the honda slowly slid around. There was no body damage dont ask how it was just the Jeep god looking out for my mom I guess.
Any help would be appreciated, and things to look for when checking everything out.
Thanks- Joshua
