Your family?

Wife doesn't care as long as it makes me happy...

it's also less dangerous then my previous motorcycle racing hobby...

it's cheaper than my gun hobby...

and my daughter loves to ride in the Jeep!

My wife & kids love it. The rest I couldn't care less. My Dad isn't interested anywhere his golf cart can't go. My mom goes to art fairs, antique auctions.

My 11 yr old son has gone to eagle rock twice and wants to know when the next trip is....I cant wait to teach him how to drive....my wife could care less

sister loves it, in fact im going to buy her xj here soon when she turns 16.

mom is interested because her boyfriend likes the idea they both want to ride, but she still worries A-LOT "don't break it its the only car you have!, Im just afraid you'll break something that can't be fixed.....etc etc"

girlfriend loves the jeep and loves that i love the jeep(s):D and wants to come wheeling to see what it is im doing when i'm not around, course when i told her i almost flipped it at tellico she made me promise not to scare the crap out of her :D

all in all my family loves what i do and supports my love of breaking....ummm i mean...driving jeeps

Lucky...

I wish I was your sister! That's nice of you, lol. Wish I had a more supportive family about it all, but oh well.

My family is totally supportive of it.My wife used to not have much interest in it until I put her behind the wheel on a couple of trails, now she loves it.I'll be building her XJ for her this winter (5.5" lift,33s, etc.) so I dont have to share mine.:D

We took a family trip out west a few years ago, I forced them to stop by Moab for a day. We rented a rubicon and that was my dad's first jeeping experience, he liked it a lot but there was a lot of cursing going on. We tried to take my mom for a short trip but she started crying on the first hill of Hell's Revenge.

Other than that they think i am an idiot for spending so much money on my jeep.

when I was trashing my pretty 2001 XJ, my parents and older brother thought I was nuts but never gave me a hard time. I also wasn't living under their roof.

they don't care one way or another and that is fine with me, I don't depend on them to be my riding companions. They enjoyed looking at my pics from BOTW and my brother is happy for me that I am able to do so many "cool" things like this with my fiancee, compared to where he was at my age - married with a kid. that's more support than I need from them.

I'm far from a hardcore offroader, and haven't modded my jeep except to add tow hooks and slightly larger tires, but I do like to drive off on logging roads and the like. And of course, a box-stock Cherokee will happily negotiate some pretty uncivilized terrain. I especially like easing over sections that are smeared with someone else's paint and oil. That, and the transverse ditches that the forest service likes to put on some of their roads to control erosion and thin out the traffic.

Anyway, my wife thought I was a little nuts until she took up photography, and got quite used to the idea of our being able to dive into some unlikely hole in the woods. She's warmed up to the Jeep a good deal.

they all think i'm nuts, they are probably right.

Yea, may family thinks im crazy.

My father thinks I'm nuts for putting so much money into my car. My g/f thinks if I could i would sleep with my car but she was sweet enough to take one of my favorite photographs of my car and got it black & white and framed. Live this girl:loveu:

I have to be VERY careful around the wife. Un-noticable mods - if ya know what I mean...

4 year old daughter loves it.

Hoping wifey changes her mind after a few "drives in the country".

My wife told me to choose between her or my Cherokee. I've put about three grand in mods into the xj since then. My wife has owned a Cherokee since then and now wants a 04 grand cherokee. One of the first words out of my five year old's and two year old's mouths was "jeep". Everyone eventually sees the light, sometimes you gotta shine it in their eyes.
