You may recall...

Oh, but I did order a Spectra open/closed conversion radiator that should be here Friday and got a pair of Chevy front lines should I need to go ahead and replace them before I lift it. More to that list. lolol

Got my Hurst ''cue ball'' shift knob in the mail last night.....I guess you'd consider that progress....

I used to make actual Billiard balls into shifter knobs and sell them.

I had a red VW Beetle and had a 3 Ball drilled and tapped to fit.

Great, now I want a 5-speed again so I can make a shifter knob. :(

Make one for the auto.

Well my big hold up at this point is my harness. Everything else is practically done other than flushing the trans and diffs. The waterpump, thermostat, alternator, and belt are in. I've got the radiator in place but not installed as it's going to make fishing a harness back in a good deal easier. If I can find a harness this thing should be running with about 2 hours worth of work!

I can't wait to drive this thing!

A local had a 88MJ loaded up and headed for the scrapper last weekend. It was a complete truck! I went over Saturday and pulled a few things off of it and was going back Sunday and came down with the flu like crap that is going around. Its gone now and I have been in bed sick for two days. That truck had a un-molested engine bay in it and bucket seat interior. It had the off-road package with all the skid plates but I didn't get them either

Man that's a bummer! Sounds like a good project, I wonder why it was going to the scrapper?

It would have been but the guy that was hauling it off ran a chain over the cab and dogged it down tight. The roof was caved in. Other that that it was in perfect condition. The guy apparently hauls off old abandoned cars for the county and didn't know what he had. I told him that if he found anymore MJ's to call me!

It was a 88, LWB, 5spd, off-road package. It had the D-35 though. I could have had that truck running in no time.

That makes me sad.

No luck on a replacement harness just yet, I've found a few RENIX era 4.0/5 speed harnesses but they all have additional relays and are routed differently.

Buuuuuuuuuut, I did just make a sweet score. ;)

Made some headway on my old chewed up harness. I also got a clutch fork, seal kit, throwout bearing, and the CJ 304 pilot bushing for the ax15. Hopefully this harness will work out once I have it back in there. If that gets me on the road I plan to source the rest of the items for the ax15 swap, that'll be the first be project before a lift or axle swaps.

The missing section was cut from an incorrect harness so the coloring would all appear as factory as possible.

The wiring is wrapped up, cooling stuff basically sorted out. I've just got to mount my universal overflow bottle now and fill it up. Next is sorting all of the vacuum lines that are chewed through and the old fuel.
