...that I once posted on here and had a '92 XJ. I sold that in May to a friend of mine for what I had in it to get back to my original plans. I had been looking for an MJ before I ended up getting my XJ, and before I put more money into the XJ I felt it was best to move on. Well after all that time I ended up hauling a truck back today with stumpxj. We drove about 2 hours out for me to get this one, it's a 1988 4.0L, 5 speed, D30/D35, Sportruck with 94,453 miles. The previous owner parked it roughly 10 years ago due to a bad alternator, he said about 6 months later when he went to replace it he noticed some of the engine harness had been chewed up and shut the hood. After intending to fix this up for his now 13 year old to drive he decided to sell it to help with bills and let it stop 'rotting.' It's in great shape, there are very few dents or dings and NO rust from what I've found. I can't WAIT to get this back on the road and ready to enjoy!

It's amazing what a pressure washer will do.

I plan on tuning it up and flushing all the fluids this weekend. I'll be scouring the junkyard for a renix 4.0/5speed engine harness to probably just swap it completely out.

Contact Steve at Custom Headliners ([email protected]) for a new head liner. I helped him develop his headliner for the MJ and it has turned out to be a perfect fit. Looks awesome!

Nice score on the truck. I would switch it out to a AX and get rid of the pukegoat tranny.

Thanks man! Lucky enough for me the guy misspelled 'Comanche' in his ad, so you had to misspell it to find it. One of the few tricks I know of looking for a Comanche! lol Dropped $300 on parts so far today...Ordered a new alternator that should be in Friday, went from a stock 65amp to a stock upgrade 105amp. Got all fluids for radiator, engine, diffs, trans, transfercase, and a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil I plan on putting in the cylinders today to help lubricate them before I do an oil change this weekend. Got a water pump, thermostat, all heater/radiator hoses, all new ignition tune up parts, filters, and went ahead and got a new serpentine belt. I'm kind of bummed I don't get off until after dark or I'd get more done this week. I'm thinking of taking a half day on Friday since we're having our holiday party, that way I can tear out early and start working on it!

Eh, I try to be overly considerate of my neighbors since they're pretty good about my junk sitting around. But my rule of thumb is if I can't see it I probably don't need to be working on it. lol

Nice! I know where a renix harness is sitting but I think my son would have a fit.....

Hahaha, well what he doesn't know won't hurt him! :p

I might as well throw it out there that if any of you know where a renix harness is, preferably from a manual vehicle, I'm interested depending on cost. lol

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I'm glad to have found the old girl! Good luck with your renix setup, let's keep our fingers crossed for each other. haha

As for tune up parts on the RENIX, I run the ACCEL cap/rotor, Firepower plug wires and NGK v-power plugs. I have tried everything in my 90 and that stuff runs the best for longest.

I get an easy 15 in town and often squeeze 22 on the highway with the AW4, 30" tires and 4:10 gears

Nice find there! As for a harness, pull a part in Charlotte normally has several remix XJ's on hand. The manager is actually a Jeep nut himself, has an 88? XJ on 33's he had to replace the harness in to get running. He said the wiring harness costed him like $18, but he's the manager there, so I'm sure he got a discount. Good luck with her!! Hopefully she'll be back on the road soon!!

Hey MT Mike, I just saw this but I appreciate the offer! The harness is just about wrapped up now, but if something got boogered up and I need a harness I'll shoot you a message!

I've been pretty sick this past week and the weather has sucked any other day I've potentially had to work on it and it's leaving me feeling a little overwhelmed with the list of shit to do.
