How hard is it to put a YJ axle into an XJ? Is it just switching spring mounts? The YJs 30 and 35 should be fairly similar to the XJ (excluding spring/shock mounts) right? I am a rookie but i'm learning......

why would you want to waste your time to swap in the same type axles you would need all new mounts ect.

what are the gears you are looking for? It seems like alot of work to get them to work. It would probably cost the same thing to re-gear as it would to set up the axles correctly if you can do all the work yourself. Even then it still might turn out to not be cost effective

gotta agree with the others, its alot of work to perches to coil buckets and change shock mounts......now on the other hand if you found Wagoneer 44's with the gears you wanted :yelclap: , then i'd say go for it.

The rear would be easy but the fronts, not so much.
First you would need to get the brackets, you can buy them but it would be cheaper to find a xj d30 or regear your current ones. You could try to remove them from a axle, but I have treid this, even with a plazma it was not easy. Then you would need to weld these on, Im not talking about eyeballing it up and throwing some booger welds on but more like having a shop do it, again it would be cheaper to regear.
Possible yes, feesible-NO

Why do you need a 30? Why would you want another 35 out back? Just get an 88 and get an xj 30 and regear
