lol, ya/ I was really getting into buying/selling cars on CL...but a couple ppl really put a bad taste in my mouth-
When I go look at something it's because i'm serious. But too many tire kickers out there/ if u want something to do go rent a damn redbox. better yet get a job!

yeah, CL is a great place to find a lot of flakes, tire kickers, and straight up scumbags. I buy things off CL and try to avoid attempting to sell things there.

Trade you for my Mothers Jeep libby.... and some cash?

Not interested in a Libby thanks.

Funny. I've had 4 people call. All 4 say they're specifically looking for the 5.9 and are aware it's a "rare" vehicle. The first two even said they're surprised I'm asking so little for it.

First guy shows up, looks it over, sounds pretty stoked, drives it and says he'll likely buy it but wanted to look at another in Ft. Collins. Calls back and says mine needs too much work........ riiiiight. The one in Ft. Collins was $7,500 and had front and rear bumper damage, and a vice grip for a hood release handle.....

2nd guy says he wants dibs if the first guy doesn't take it. We make arrangements for him to see it at noon today. He no-shows, but texts saying he spoke to his mechanic who told him my ZJ, based on info from the ad is worth no more than $4K "because it's 13 years old and lots of parts are close to wearing out or already worn out." But....... he'll buy it sight unseen at that price. I tell him he must have the 5.9 confused with the common ZJ and perhaps a rare, limited production ZJ isn't for him. I declined his offer. He texts back and says his mechanic is a jeep specialist and that ALL 5.9 Grands "need to have the torque converter swapped out with a different one because the OEM torque converters rob the engine of power and cause bad gas mileage" so his offer is based on having to have that done. Seriously????

3rd & 4th have offered no more than $4K.

I guess I'm keeping it........ :dunno:

What a crock of chit. That zj is worth at least 6k. If not more cause of the recent cleaning. You just gotta wait for the right buyer.

Hang in there troy/ it's the tax season-u will get a buyer/ but WTF u wanna buy? Lol put it up for trade as well

Hey man, the Durango I just got blue booked for 5500$ even with 200,000 miles on the clock, and I traded what was at most a 3000$ car that got most of its value from rims, coilovers, and a few other goodies. I bet if I went to sell it I'd get maybe 4000-4500$. Thats just how it is these days.

Its a sweet ZJ man and I know I would love to own it, but I already have a 5.9L gas guzzler and can't afford 2 of them. I'd love to work out a trade for it though. :D 5.9L ZJ's are tits for sure.

Goodluck with the venture, and tell us what you're looking to get already.

No, I'm totally aware of the depreciation V8 SUV's suffer from. Durangos are among the worst. Our '03 Envoy was worth only $13,500 after 4 years and a few months of ownership..... in '07 we still owed $19K. The discount/incentives and dealership deal on the TBSS3 we got was the only way we got out of the Envoy without having to go into the TBSS3 deal upside-down.

KBB lists the ZJ at $6,800 in "good" private party condition which I certainly believe it is. I'd like to think $5400 asking is more than fair...... I'd take $4800, keeping the tires/wheels that are on it, but below that it ain't worth giving up.

I ain't gonna divulge what I'm looking at getting if the ZJ goes away. Y'all will just have to wait and see - but what I want could sell out from under me too. I've got a possible trade option being discussed as well. Hell, at this rate, I'll likely be keeping it anyway.

if you get truggy back we are fighting!

GLWS man, ill ask around

6800$ No shit? Probably due the the less (a lot) miles and the rarity of the 5.9 ZJ, just a tad over 1000$ more than the Durango in the same condition. Also Durango's probably get the worst mileage of any SUV out there besides a V10 Excursion or 454 powered Suburban.

Well goodluck with it man, but there are definately worse cars to be stuck with. It was the same way with my 93 UrS4, I was only asking 5000$ for it and I almost agreed to take 4000$ for from a guy. When he wouldn't even come up from 4000$ after I asked for 4500$ I decided not to sell it to him. He got a bit upset and said something about how long it had been for sale and how I should just take the money. I countered by saying, "True, its been for sale for a while. But my stubborness means i get to continue driving an S4 and you don't." :D
