I absolutley understand the benifits of weight reduction. Yes, 1/10th of a second is accurate. .3/10th's in the 1/4 isn't a big deal to you?
Im also taking out the a/c, metal bumpers, replacing the front windshield with lexan(its already cracked so might as well) And replacing the front seats...Possibly the heater..
I'll keep the thread updated with my progress ;)
Not my first time going to the track friend

Looks like you could cut out all that sheet metal for the rear seat pan and save
a ton of weight . I used to starve myself back when I raced bikes , If I lost more than 20-30 lbs , I could sure feel it in the pants ...

Awrite, quit hijacking my thread with all this volvo nonsense......... :moon:

:D

!!!1

Cain't help it troy , all this talk of whale hauling always interests me .

Whale hauling = Impala wagon with a 5.7L

Brick with a hair dryer = Elguapo's swedish quatroporte

:D

Cheater cheater Elguapo......... :nono:

You don't see me going and stripping the 5.9 just to win a race.........

X2 should have left all that crack in there till after the race!

Mike, u know we both are familiar with fast:looney:

Slappin' cheeks fast , or leaving a load in your shorts fast , yes I can relate ...

Mike , you get a bike and I'll ride with ya anytime .

Troy , a friend of mine lives up there in Denver with a 97" ZJ Limited .
He put an Avenger 4x4 supercharger with boost controller on his Jeep .
The green and gold monster hauls buttikus now , I know super pricy but
that thing moves for being lifted with big rubber .

Gonna be picking up some clear corner lenses and the turn signal lens I need from a guy in Highlands Ranch who has a '98 5.9 with a super charged 6.7L 360 stroker....... on Methane injection.......

I'm gonna have stroker envy...... :D

there goes Yella's x-mas funds...

meh, just run e-85 if you're going all out like that.
Water injection is nice, but if your going this far just make the changes to run the corn fuel. Of course unless you live in an area where they dont supply it.

e85=more cooling=win
meth/water injection= same affect on a lesser level.
Let me know if you ever wana build a kit for yours yella, i'd be happy to help ya hook one up(turbo>blower btw)

LOL! Oops, I DID type "Methane" didn't I........... :shhh:

No sir, I will not be doing anything remotely like this to the ZJ. That is totally throwing away good money WAY worse than if I were building it for off-road use. If you looked over the list of the parts used in his build........ he's easily got $25K into that ZJ....... and what does he have? A fast ZJ. Cool and unique but appeals to a MUCH smaller group than a stock or lifted ZJ. There is NO resale/return where his ZJ is concerned. He'd be very lucky to get 50% of his investment back.

I've got a '46 Olds that'd be a much smarter and appreciated recipient of good money thrown at it.

My ZJ will likely stay very stock. I might get the wild hair to mess with the ignition, throttle body, and exhaust and likely suspension...... but that'd be about it.
