XOMBIE 2.0

I view codes as the engine computer telling me something is broken... sure, I could ignore it, but usually it means lousy gas mileage so I fix it :dunno:

I just get tired of chasing codes... So, I stopped. Granted, my XJ is OBD-I so I don't really get decent codes.

It probably gets bad gas mileage but I wouldn't know. I haven't actually driven it anywhere in 4 years. She just rides everywhere on a trailer.

ok got some of it fixed, 2 bad injectors,

but im still having trouble with the p0705 tranny code, it went away, tried 2 different tranny computers and 2 different NSS, both seemed ok for a while but the code came back and it has trouble sometimes staying in OD or even going into OD on the highway

Do these transmissions have solenoids in them? I have no idea. Never had the pan all the way off to look. ..
yep... AW-4 has 3 solenoids. Solenoid 2 shifts from 1-2 (or OD-3) while solenoid 1 shifts from (1-2) to (OD-3). Another solenoid locks the torque converter.

They all should measure 11-15 ohms when at operating temperature.

alrighty, here it is near complete, the second brand newish 2010 Xombie,

...back from the dead, (now featuring 4WD)

Nice!

How's the paint on the body panels you couldn't replace, i.e. roof? Rear quarters look good, so does everything you swapped.

Thanks, im gonna sand down the roof and send it out for spot paint, other than that its pretty nice now.

gonna keep my eye out for some alloys and I'm gonna order a headlight upgrade, stock is way too dim

Some progress made and some pics;

-136 amp Alternator upgrade
-oil filter adapter O-ring set
-Mobil 1 oil change and Mobil 1 filter
-swapped rear axle from the 97 to the 01, (no more noise, also came with new brakes the old axle brake pads fell off upon removal of the drum)
-found and replaced burnt cps wires on main harness (it turns out that burning smell, was in-fact, burning wires, go figure)
-replaced fuel pump and filters (the old one was covered in mud and had low pressure)
-replaced downstream 02 sensor, i was getting the p0138 after about 200 miles of driving

and yesterday i pulled the roof rack off and dropped it off at Macco to get the roof top and cowl ends refinished and painted, should be back today or tomorrow
