XJ rock rails which ones??

I am back to work, probably never goto the dr again for the rest of my life after that fiasco! I'm about 2-3 weeks behind on rails, thinking of making a DIY set where all the steel is cut,drilled,hardware included...cheap of course.

Hey AJ I just e mailed you back yesturday about some super rails and what the prosess is to order them. If you are seriously thinking of a DIY set up I would be VERY interested in that.

anyone use the Warn rock rails? there was an article in one of the jeep mags that i get, don't remember which one, but it used many bolts and bolted to different parts underneath the XJ.

Garbage! I had them send me the install directions when I was looking and you have to remove the seats and drill holes through the floor boards.

ORGS or ORGS style rails are Rubicon/Fordyce/Johnson Valley approved. Many people in the Sierra Chapter stand behind these as well as 35" mtrs and RE stuff. I know I use them all the time when I'm on the Con. Kind of nice to be able to slid over stuff on them.

JKS supernerfs if you have the dough, but if you would like to spend 100 to 200 dollars less get ajs rockrails supernerfs. That is what I am going for.--------------

Aj's or Rigidco's for your price range. I have Rigidco's and really like 'em. . . .

If price was not a factor, I would have gone with JKS. . . .

I just got a Hi-Lift yesterday ($43 at TSC) and tested my AJ's super rails. It would be easier to use the jack without the outer tube. The lip on the end of the jack was all that was touching the inner sturdy square tube (the actual rock sliding rail) and it made me nervous. I'm afraid to jack from just the outer tube since it might pivot the rails out. As it was though I was impressed with how the rails barely flexed when I had both wheels off the ground with the jack. I think the AJ's rails are great I just wanted to throw this in as it may help you choose a set with the outer rail or without it. I'll post pics when I get off my ass and get some.
P.S. Aj, have you found a better technique than mine for using your rails as a jacking point? I'm obvoiusly new at the whole Hi-Jack thing. Thanks

Rocky Road rails flex up and put dents in the rocker. My friend went thrue the con and bent both sides of his rockers. I guess it did its job cause he can still open his doors (for now). He has the RR step rails. Not impressed with them at all.

I Built my own:

They sit flush aginst the rocker and are preloaded. They dont move.

Hi-Lifts are always kinda spooky to use for the first few times. With the SuperRails, guys just put it on the outside tube and jack away, never had anyone say that was a problem. Heck guys with 1/8" wall rails jack up the XJ with a Hi-Lift no problem. One guy used his SuperRails as a winchpoint and drug his XJ sideways out of a washout. I would never recommend this for obvious liability reasons but it's a good example of what they hold up to.

Thanks AJ. I'll just jack from the outside. I need some practice with that jack is all. Your rails rock and you were the greatest with your customer service. I'll definately do business with you again.
