XJ Mechanic in Bay Area?

I think I have a blown head gasket. XJ started boiling over from the radiator cap on the freeway today with no signs of overheating on the temp gauge.

I live in SF but am in the San Jose after my commute.

Does anyone know a good mechanic in the South Bay that knows XJs?

Could be a blown head gasket but it sounds like your cooling system can't maintain pressure. I would have the cooling system block checked, aka test for carbon monoxide then do a general inspection and pressure test the cap for the ability to hold and maintain its rated pressure. Also make sure the cap is correct for the vehicle, the wrong psi cap will boil over sooner. The cooling system cannot work properly if there is any leak, it wont hold pressure and will boil over.

to add to this, check your oil for color and consistancy. You might consider just buying a new cap and making sure you'r overflow is filled properly. What year jeep is it?

It's a '99 with 172K

Thanks guys.
Turns out it was a bad cap. What a relief!

It's been a while since the cooling system got some love, so I'm going to replace the water pump (never been replaced), thermostat and flush the coolant.

It's running just a tad hot in normal conditions and I think this should do it.
