XJ Critical Path from IRO

You guys crack me up. Maybe I should have said lacking intelligence that way I wouldn't offend your sensativities.

I guess you haven't seen a ton then.

Pretty sure I have more time under my Jeep than most of the people here.

btw mine has frame 3/16 angle welded to the bottom of the frame. Drilled out 3 holes in the proper location and welde 1/2" grade 8 nuts to the top (no tapping of 1/8 steel for a false sense of security for me) Then I also use the t-case bolts so thats 5 per side into substantial metal not thin crap. Also I have small tabs welded so the sheer is not on the bolts either.

But I guess yours is ok for driving around town to your job and impressing your little friends.

And all this time I thought my welding was bad :looney:

does that crossmember use only the 3 tcase bolts? Stupid.
damn skippy its stupid..... mine would have ripped off long ago if I had just three bolts holding it...

Wow man, have you ever been under your jeep? Tranny x-member has two holes, the other hole has to be tapped. It is this way for EVERY long arm crossmember I have personally ever seen. But I guess maybe you would say TNT customs makes "stupid" products?

Go troll somewhere else.
I know you apologized but before you think your cool get your information right... every la crossmember worth buying uses angle brackets that are slugged through the frame and braced with plate from the outside.... the tnt kit uses this method to secure the crossmwmber thus providing enough shear strength to support the forces on the front.. so grow up and check your info before you think your about to make someone else look stupid

Holy crap, what are you all over me for? I thought he was just being a dick. It's not like he elaborated, he just said it was stupid.

I'm not saying I have all the facts. I'm not saying I've seen every long arm setup ever created. I simply thought 'WTF, what's wrong with three holes, I know TNT uses three holes. That guy is just being a dick, he should gtfo.' Obviously we all know now that that thought process doesn't apply to what he was actually trying to say. And that my idea of decent long arm setup's is generally wrong.

Actually now I'd have to say I agree. Though I've never previously thought that area received so much stress. But if so many venerable and experienced Jeepers agree, well then I must agree.

I wasn't trying to get everyone all pissed. I wasn't even trying to say I know better than everyone, I thought I was doing a favor by telling some dick to F off. I'm super sorry and I'll never ever do it again.

Wow you called me that 3 times. I think that's a first it's usually just once or twice.

I'm glad you agree it's nice to see somebody can actually learn something and then apply it.

Lol I was just trying to make the point that I previously thought you were just being a dick. Not trying to be a know-it-all.

I never take my jeep offroad. Why would I wanna do that? My longarms impress the ladies. That's all I care about. It makes the ride alot smoother too but that doesn't matter.

Anyone running it? Thoughts?

I'm considering dumping my JCR skid and replacing with this critical path cross member.

looks like a fine cross member for locating the transmission and transfer case only.

I wouldnt look for it to provide the protection that the JCR unit does, and without some re-enforcement, I wouldnt look for it to hold my front suspension on, but if you're looking to get away from the stock unit and get something a little stronger in there - that should do the job.

Here I was thinking that hadfield was just a brutally honest, smart jeep tech and wheeler who doesn't sugar coat things. I didn't know he was a dick, too!

Gee, kinda remids me of pirate! :gag:
