xj armor supercharger

I dunno if I'd buy a charger from an outfit that installed it on a filthy engine, didn't hook it up to the intake and didn't post some actual dyno numbers...

yeah... It's cheaper than Kenne Belle or whipple but it's still a centrifugal blower... Good for street/highway but limited offroad (unless you're into jeepspeed)

You could probably buy a powerdyne on Ebay and figure it out yourself

That's still the "test-bed" version, installed on an 88. He's going to release with a Powerdyne head unit, and he's still doing fuel tuning and such before he takes it to a dyno cell and finalises everything.

When I talked to him (doing research for my book) he said he'd planned on having a "Dyno Day" and testing all his engine mods before and after so he could post some real-world numbers - that's probably going to happen when he gets the supercharger ready for final tuning.

I naturally take this with a grain of salt (sorry, but I'm a born cynic,) but I agreed to leave off writing about his blower kit until he tells me it's done. So, I'll probably hear about it when he does the dyno thing.

True that it's more of a highway mod - I'd put it on my wife's 89, but I'd use a Roots or a Whipple for my 88. Used properly, it's a valid mod (and he decided to go with a centrifugal due to base cost - he wanted to do a "low-buck" supercharger kit. I don't blame him - used properly, it's a good mod.)

I will, of course, post what I find out if and when (short form - longer version will be reserved for an update to my book.)

"Release date on these is somewhere in November"

Yeah - I know, and I talked to him in mid-December. In fact, you reminded me that I was thinking of giving him a ping and seeing if anything new had happened... I'll let him know he was being asked about here.

If you take a good look at the bracket, you can pretty well tell (from the 1/2" 6061 construction and lots of leftover Dykem) that it's a proto. I saw a proto-cast bracket (that looked pretty good) and the working proto system that fit neatly under the hood. I'd have an issue with the no A/C, but I think it's at www.madxj.com where they doped out how to install OBA using a York and retaining the stock aircon while using a slightly longer OEM belt and pattern, so something similar may be doable here (I'd probably do it by using the relocated York for aircon, and put the blower head unit in the Sanden's place - but that's just me...)

Is that jeepspeed located in one area or does it travel throughout the country? id totally drop all my projects, including my camaro and build a jeepspeed rig if there were events in my neck of the woods.
