so i might be selling my XJ 44
this is a feeler thread but if things work out itll be for sale by tomorrow...

XJ 44
ZJ disc conversion
new calipers/pads/rotors
stock shafts with new bearings/seals/TJ backing plates and ZJ studs
although its all new, the pass side leaks gear oil, but it never goes low, even after running the con in september its still full from then...

changed gear oil 2x a year since ive owned it for 2-3 years
works and runs great,
id hate to see my baby go, but i might be going much bigger...

my new axle wont. it has all new seals and bearings.
its a currie high pinion 9" with 35 spline chromoly shafts and a full detroit /discs/4.88s/shaved bottom

i have a 4.88 complete dana 30 front.
open.

ill sell them as a package deal for 1350$....
ill be throwing in spare rear shafts that arent set up for discs
and maybe some spare front shafts as well...
 
the 9" is very nice.

my 30 on stock shafts (non cryo'd 4.88s) and a detroit true trac is the weak link now.

i plan on going to chromos up front for sure,
and maybe swapping in a full detroit...

or just swap in my spare open front end and chromos (no front locker) and just beat on it....
 
yeah i vote for the open 30 if your going to stick with 35's or taller. I love and have a great time beating on it worry free...i hate driving slow.
 
although, at the same time, im not sure how much stronger/weaker a stock carrier is than the true track.

the downside is that i dont have traction going to both tires up front any more. i do like the ability of the front to pull....
i guess im worried about loosing some of the pull from the front on steep ledges...

but with the long arms, i am able to keep both my tires on the ground pretty easily anyway...

what will end up happening is ill throw in chromos up front and most likely run the front true trac until it explodes someday, then swap in the open front end (truss it in the meantime,and plate the uca and lca mounts) and get it ready for 37s which will just be killing time until i can get some 39 irocs ....
 
and im hoping by the time i am ready for 39" irocs ill hopefully have found a used HP 9" front end with 35 spline chromos...
 
thanks for the beer mike, i hope you dont have any issues swapping that HO intake and throttle body onto your junk.
so i really only want to sell the dana 44 , im gonna keep the dana 30.

I prol won't get to the xj intake for a few weeks, trying to get a new cyl head onto my taco asap.
