Changed my mind, looking for a 4 door for dogability instead of sweet 2 door looks. Would still consider nice 2 doors.

They are. I will have one one day, but for now a 4 door makes more sense. Really it's finding a manual that's not rusted out or beat to shit that's turning out to be hard...

4 door manual XJs are rarer than 2 doors, especially the 97+ ones. Where are you located in MD? I'll keep an eye out for you

I'm in Frederick, but I'm certainly willing to drive for the right one.

If someone has a really cheap (~1k) automatic that's in good condition, I'd consider that as well for now.

Yeah I just like the 97+ style a bit more and I want at least one airbag. (I know those were 95+, but the styling still applies).

If you found a pre-97 one you could always swap the header panel and doors on, and/or the dash if you were really motivated. I have a 97 header panel and doors on my 96 5 spd.

I'm aware and while I might be motivated enough to swap the header panel (done that before) I'm not nearly motivated enough to swap the dash. Sometimes half of the fun is in the search.
