i need this ASAP if anyone has a late model starter laying around i cant afford the $135 bucks the parts store wants and im down to the XJ being my only transportation. its to the point that I have to hit it with a hammer to start the jeep.

should look like this and only fits a 99-01 XJ or 99-02 WJ or TJ with a 4.0

I only need to borrow it till I get my first check at my new job, i'll be buying a new one after that.

:helpme:

the difference is that connector, im not sure if i can just pop it off and put it on the new one or if i should cut the wire and throw a ring terminal on there.

If that's the case and you can make one of the ones off either of my Jeeps work, you're more than welcome to go over to my place and take one off until you're able to get one. I won't be using them for a couple of months.

i might have a spare in the garage, if not i can buy a cheaper new one and move my shit over to it. i'll have to take a look when im out of my interviewing clothes.

If you don't have a spare drop me a line, I'm sure I have one in my garage.

If that connector is the only difference, that's a $67 connector. :0

I just bought a Delco 337-1078 starter for my 92 for $66 from Amazon. A 2000 calls for a 337-1089 and that's $133!

yeah same deal i hope its the connector. if so i can swap it over to the new starter... if it doesnt work out i have prime and they're good about returns :D

looking at the pics, the one that it calls for on the 00 is slightly longer, i noticed the same thing though with the one i took out on my moms WJ. the replacement had a slightly longer case, it made it a real bitch to slip back up where it needed to go. this 337-1078 looks just like the stock one.

hmm
