First of all, I think I put a similar thread in the wrong place. Sorry Noob mistake.

My MJ is needs a SYE and I need to have one put on. Someone recommended MAX, which I haven't asked yet. If anyone has SYE kit or TC and they would like to sell it, let me know. I'm located in Long Beach.
Thanks

Just throwing this out there but, Advanced adapters has a nice SYE. I think they're 190, a well put together kit and worth the money IMHO.

Ok. Ill definetly take that into consideration. There is a np231 from a 91 on craiglist and he wants 300 with the advance adapter sye. Im just concerned about the number of splines since my mj is a 87 one. And the number of splines is different. Would it be hard to make it fit my application?

no the a.a. sye doesnt change the input shaft spline count. it will work with 21 or 23 spline. i got mine shipped to my door for 220. it was stupid easy to install. even a crack head can do it.

Installation is straight forward, u'll need rtv, and these special snap ring pliers that you can get for napa (I paid $18 for mine), a 15mm, a 10mm and a 9/16 socket. That's all I can remember right now.

Ok. Sounds excellent. I am not a certified mechanic but i think i have all those tools. Question: does the spline count matter if i get a 91tc and i want to install it in my 87? How would i make it fit?

You would have to install the input shaft from your original tc into the new case or pull the mainshaft (sye shaft) from the new tc and install in your original case. either way you will have to take both apart.

I have a Np231 w/ a AA SYE installed. Its mated to a 96' ax-15 trans right now. Selling both & I'm willing to split it the case & trans.
I converted to 2wd cause I do jeepspeed. The sye will be 1 year old this June & has roughly 2miles of use on it! Yes you read right, roughly 2miles of 4wd use. Probably 8-9k of everyday driving. Got it because I'm at 5" of lift & needed it to remedy the vibes.
I used 4wd 2 times since I've installed, once to pull out a stuck dodge & the other to pull out a stump. Works wonderfully & looks brand new.
As I said theres probably 8-9k of everyday driving sinces its been installed, also only 2miles on it.
Now I'm 2wd I have no need so make an offer.
