WTB lifted cherokee

Personally I wouldn't be too afraid of collkids XJ.

My 92 had 230,000 or so miles on it and when I did the rear main on it there wasn't even any wear marks yet. The 4.0 is a great engine and capable of making a Honda look unreliable.

DW is actually very easy to fix, you just have to take the time to check things before you just throw parts at it. Then again, I've been a diesel mechanic for 9yrs now and actually know what I'm doing.

If you are new to the whole wheeling thing don't go getting yourself one with crazy amounts of lift and mods. You're best bet is actually a stocker. Learn to wheel it stock and then slowly mod it over time. I had a blast wheeling my 99 when it was stock, and all the lift oversized tires and super strong axle swaps couldn't keep me from destroying my 92 when a brake line let go on my while climbing an obstacle.

The problem with buying an "already lifted" Cherokee, is that most of these sellers on craigslist think that their Cheap lift adds tons of value to their Rig. Alot of these rigs i'm seeing go for $3,000 plus are not worth more than a grand at best, but because they have a lift, the seller thinks its gold. I found my stock 99 for a VERY good price, and with that I was able to choose exactly what lift I wanted, and install it myself so I know its done right. X2 on DutchVDubs comment, I would at least go take a look at Collkids XJ, it looks like a decent rig.

Um yeah Mine really isn't bad.

And I'm working on the DW issue, think I'll be getting a New track bar in there (thanks Yall) soon. and The rear Main seal, Well, Its an easy thing to do or get done or just let it be for a while.

Eh, you could always sell those tires or trade them for 32" so you dont have to regear.

Yeah i'd e-mail the seller about that one.

Uuumm gears. stock gears are 3.55's this is made to spin the Stock size tires. with larger tires, say 33's, you'd want like 4.56 i believe?

You'd have to ask someone that would know more. Drive it, it would drive like a DOG super slow and LOW mpgs.

FOR ME, I wouldn't want one. I'm sure a few people drive it like this without minding much

I drive daily with stock gears and 33's. Didn't notice much if any drop in power. same with MPG's. I maybe lost 1 MPG still get 200-215 miles to the tank.
