im basically looking for a running, driveable, smogable jeep that doesnt have back tags that i can start wrenching on in the 1500 or less range.

A friend of mine actually has one for sale.
From what I know of it..
1989 Laredo
4.0L - New rad (his old one had a leak), new overflow bottle, exhaust leak, newer exhaust system from cat back, typical oil leaks, newer Kirkland 800CCA battery
Still less than 180k, I believe
A/C WORKS! He didn't even know til we went to the lake last weekend, Lol.
Manual ba5/10 - np231, 4wd works, pretty much new u-joint for the slip yoke
Stock gears
Newer 225/75R15 street tires on Jeep 10-hole alum wheels
Red (clearcoat peeling/faded)
Grey int.
Originally had rear tire carrier, but was gone when he got it, but the brackets are still there.
Dash lights do not work, but all gauges work correctly.
Has electric seats, but it leaked at some point and the motors burned out. Easy enough fix.
Stereo face was stolen, so no radio. Not sure what speakers are in the front, but there are some decent Boston Acoustic ones in the hatch.
Definitely a good runner
That's all I can think of right now.
Basically, he is going to Germany on a scholarship for a year, and would like some fundage to cover extra expenses.

I actually just bought a 89 laredo last Monday for 1800 passed smog new egr new cat new distributor power everything and it works, just need to recharge the a/c but overall a decent starter jeep. Thanks for the reply thou, if you had caught me sooner we could of worked something out
