looking for an 8.8 rear end w/disc brakes, low mileage is a plus as is a non-limited slip, but I will take what I can get. e-mail me at; [email protected] or PM me here. if you have anything like this or know of anyone who does, please don't hesitate to contact me. thanks.

I will be pulling mine in 2-3 weeks. its got brand new pads as of 500 miles ago. it is lsd but it has 4.56 gears, shock tabs mounted over axle and pinion angle is set at 16 degrees.

if that is disc brakes it sounds good, how much you looking to get for it and where exactly are you located? also what size lift are you running to necessitate a 16 degree pinion angle? I was planning on doing this anyway to eliminate my axle shims. how many miles on the setup?

You should look up Mark Hinkley.
He lives in Allen too.
Hard to catch him anymore, but you ought to PM him and ask to see his setup.
He's a pioneer of the modified XJ.

Anyway, with the gears, and considering the cost of 8.8s in yards around here, I'd say $650's not a bad deal.

-Agreed, a guy tried to take me for $350 for a 8.8 with unknown mileage , worn out drums, open diff and supposed 3:55's just today.

anyway, mikecooper, I am almost 100% positive I want this axle but just curious as to why you're ditchin it and also how has the LSD treated you off road?

The lsd was less than ideal. Ditching it for a full width 9" with alloy's, 5.13's, a spool with 36 sx's. It was less to build the 9" than to upgrade the 8.8 and still have to "take it easy".
