Wtb 95 and later 242

My last trip out in the xj I recall my case making some funny noises. Well shaking it down today inoticed its still making funny noises. Guess I need some parts so who has what

Well I still have a 231 with sye...no more z link I gave that away Yesterday to Jeeper I met at the meet an greet...It is free ...I really have no use for it ...Sober...replies only...drunk ones are too confusing.

Oh make mind up quickly as the Man I gave the shifter to was told I had a free 231 at the house ...only reason I offer this after mention of it to him is your claim to the case was made but you seemed to not want it , but I want to make certain you do not want this and i'm not mistaken.

I'll have the 242 out of my 90 next weekend. Should only need to swap input gears, and I'll actually have an extra 23 spline input gear I can toss in it. Hit me up if you want it.

I have an extra one from a 95 (I think). It has the electric speedometer sender. 23 spline input. Turns freely and shifts easily. It's just taking up space in my garage.

So you certainly no longer want thr 231 ...if so I got a home for it ...just making sure I do tbe right thing by asking .

I've had it for sale for a while with not even a single response for $150. So that's probably way more than it's worth. I'd take as much as you're willing to offer. Just get it out of my garage.

input gear bearing size although they are interchangeable as long as you use a matching gear bearing and retainer housing
rear output housing is also different early vs late

I know the older ones use a cable for the speedo, but so did the Dana 300 and I was able to put a VSS on it. I have never heard of I/P bearing changes.
