Looking for an AW4 bellhousing to mate to the 2.5. I believe this combo was only available in '87 - '90. If you've got one, let me know. Email or PM is fine.

thanks

To my knowledge you are looking for something that does not exist. The only autos behind the 2.5 were the chevy 700 (very rare and usualy found behind the 2.8) and the TF ones. All 2.5L's to my knowledge have the 60deg V-6 bolt pattern. Oh yea I have two 2.5 autos one from a 84 one from a 86.

It does seem rare, but I have searched before for info on it and they do exist. At least, I've found just as many posts saying they do exist and/or have one as I've found that said the combo doesn't exist. I found a place on car-parts.com that says they have one, but they want something like $175 for it.

I hope these people know what they are talking about. About 3 eyars ago I asked for info on teh AW-4 behind the 2.5 on the old board and everyone said it did not exist..... I wanted a 4 speed auto..... I was under the impresion that the AW-4 did nto have a removable bellhousing?

No, it's definitely removable. I know I can get a bell for it with the GM 60 deg V6 pattern brand new from Isuzu, but they're about $350 I think.

I still don't know for sure if the 2.5/AW4 bell exists. Don't want to chance buying one from a junkyard unseen either.
