Anyone here had it done? Did you wrench before...with glasses? :eyes:

I had it done last Saturday, and my life has frikin changed. Joke all you want about me web-wrenchin, whatever, but you all know the truth. Seriously, I don't know how I ever did it with glasses on.

I put the winch plate on the JK today and man...it was SOOOOO much easier without pushing up glasses every 20 seconds. The Summer was worse, the sweat would make them fall of my face. Serious PITA.

My wife is glad I no longer come in the house with that greasy mark on my nose from pushing up the glasses. :)

Who else has had it done?

That's good JJ, NOW PUT ON YOUR SAFETY GLASSES!!! I'm required to wear them at work, now I feel nekkid without them.

Congrats man! I've wanted lasik for a while now - hopefully in the next few years I'll be able to come up with the $$$ to do it. Glasses suck while doing just about anything... wrenching, being out while there's any amount of rain/snow coming down, wrestling around with my kid, etc. I'm jealous!

Did you do the traditional lasik or the newer bladeless lasik?

Now no one can call you a nerd, CONGRATS! :D

I have been blessed with not needing glasses, my wife however got lasik couple years ago. She only had one bad eye so it was weird, but she is glad she got it cause even with a contact in one eye she still had problems. I went with her and got to watch the surgery on the big screen. The nurse forgot to warn me that they show EVERYTHING. SO when they got to the point of slicing her lens and peeling it back I about hurled.:puke:

Then it got to the cool video game looking thing with the target screen. :greensmok

I got custom blade free. My wife got it done about 3 years ago. She got the slice and dice version. Funny hers was the same price and my custom blade free job. My healing time was much faster than hers. My flaps were already sealed in about 12 hours.

Wrestling with the kids is easier now too!

Congrats ! I had mine done about four years ago and I love it, although the first 8 hours were painful to blink. My vision is still 20/20 (at least it was a year ago) but night vision is slightly fuzzy, as they inticipated.

a MUST to remember the safety glasses; I would get the serious wrap-around kind for awhile. Remember they told how important it is not to get anything in the eye for some time (I think a couple months) so not to cut the retina - at least for mine.

I would still think about it with a credit account. When I did mine they had a 36 month same-as-cash deal and I went for it just to make small easy payments; not bad IMHO

Yeah, I think that when I decide to do it I'll plan ahead and make sure I'm participating in my company's FSA. Tax on the $2500 or so it costs for the surgery is a good chunk o' change!

I really want to get mine done I hate glasses with a passion. That and being a safety guy here I have to swap my normal ones with safety ones and or sunglasses it's a pain in the ass and gets pricy.

You can also directly write off anything medical greater than 7.5% of your adjusted income at the end of the year... :)

co-pays', mileage, perscrips, band aids, heck maybe even tooth brushes(preventative care). "consult your local tax adviser"
