Wrenchfest in Brentwood...October 16

Ed...there is an Advance Auto Parts in Nolensville...about 5 miles. That is the closest. There is a Pep Boys, NAPA, O'Reilly's, Autozone, and another Advance between 8-12 miles from home.

Alpha...wrenching indoors with a work station, beer fridge, florescent lighting, television, dry floors, and temperature control is a nice feature. You ought to consider it sometime.

I'll take that as an offer - I need to gather some parts and bring the MJ down and have all you expert mechanics give me a hand.

Don't forget the donuts for breakfast and ribeyes for lunch!

I'l have donuts, don't know about ribeyes though!

How about PB & J with a sprinkling of gear oil for flavor?

PB & J tops the ribeye so you are good.

sounds good. bosco will be coming by around 4ish i think? he needs help replacing his oil sender, if someone can grab his jackstands from him before they come out that'd be great.

what time are we all meeting again?

I'll be there around 4. Hopefully earlier.

Bosco...if you can make it earlier than that it would be good. I was hoping to be wrapped up around 3 or so.

I've got a set of stands I'll bring as well.

Well dang. I'm in Bowling Green until 2 tomorrow so I doubt I'll be there before 3. Oh well. I'll stay posted with wingnut.

GREAT day of wrenching today. Big thanks to Ed, Mark, and Joe!

We got almost done. My cordless drill ran out of battery as we were drilling the hole for the trackbar. So, we weren't able to tie that up or adjust what needs to be adjusted to get my steering wheel straight, so, for the time being, the cruise button is on the bottom and the adjustments are on the top!

The new axles look great under the truck. Since I haven't driven it yet, I have to assume that Mark's brake bleeding will allow me to stop when I get it running.

Now, to finish up....need to mount the track bar, tork down the diff cover, fill the front differential, and get a battery for it.

Also, need to get some spacers for all 4 wheels. My MTs are rubbing on the rear leaves of the 8.8 and the fronts get into my lower control arm at full turn.

At the end of the day, only one tool walked off. We have no idea where my ratchet is.

And, finally, the slick move of the day belongs to Joe....who sliced his finger open on a....wait for it...on a first aid kit! How about that irony.

Great day for sure. I learned a lot from Joe. He has obviously wrenched on a bunch of XJ's. He also gets the award for most prepared. If you needed a tool, he had it.

Thanks for the donuts and pizza. Mmmmm good.

Let us know how it does with the 4.10's.

Found my ratchet. Apparently when Joe pulled the top off my workbench, it slipped though the hole and dropped to the bottom shelf. I found it between two 5 gallon cans of used oil....
