Wrap?

Anyone tried wrapping their cherokee? I've seen it in some import magazines, and in Truckin'. Basically they wrap the entire vehicle with a huge vinyl decal. I'm thinking it might be a good way to cover up some awesome "I used to have bushwackers" holes. Plus, it seems like it would hold up to scrapes and scratches from branches better.

Wouldn't the plastic just tear to shreds on trail obstacles?

okay, since we're at the very beginning of a trial sort of phase for this section, I don't think this belongs here at all. that's my opinion...

Just to reitterate this previous statement

While this is technically a body mod, it is, in reality, basically a big-ass cammo sticker and therefore doesn't belong in advanced tech.

It was, however a valiant effort at keeping with the forum topic. Just too non-advanced.

My two cents on the subject is:
Don't do this unless you are some sort of mercenary and don't want to be seen while sitting in your truck while parked in the forest.
Besides, no other drivers will be able to see you.

They sell magnets.

Big ones. Body-panel-covering ones. Forget who though. Google it.

I have seen those some where. I can only think about what your paint would look like after you take them off. I am sure dirt and dust would get between magnets or stickers and move around making your paint look like you used a brilo pad to buff it.

you need BUBBLEWRAP.

I love bubblewrap... keeps me occupied for hours.

"Hey, what was that noise?"

"What noise?"

"That popping sound. Was it a U-joint?"

"No, that's just my genuine bubblewrap body protection. I bought it off someone on JU. He has a business, PUV or something."

"That's pretty rad, dude."

"Totally."

I just realized... is this the first thread to get removed from the uber-tech section? What a smack-down! Good going Travis! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

I just thought it would match my tail-lights, maybe do the whole jeep in carbon fiber. Oh well, It will have to wait anyway because I've decided to buy some neon lights for underneath the XJ, and some LED washer nozzles.

Don't forget the light up valve stem caps

Not to distrub all the fun here... But has anybody here clear wrapped cars? I'm thinking that wouldn't be half bad for the Mini if it's as clear as they say.
