So pretty much they suck....i have to pay Around 6000.00 dollars and its making me realize that i want a more stable job. Im just extremely frustrated right now and do not really know what to do, any good jobs out there? Being self employed has its benefits but i don't know if its for me. GOOD BYE SAVINGS!!! Can Anyone help me out there?

Yeah and it is not going to get any better. Car tags are up, gas tax is up, sales tax is going up.

You know what really sucks, I have to pay a tax every year for my water meter that I pad cash for when I built the house and on top of that I still have a water bill every month that I pax taxes on the useage.

I think that I am going to move in the middle of friggen no where and let the man find me.
 
Ya and California is the worst! Im just 22 yrs old and i don't know who im going to make it in life, thought i was doing good but i think im wrong.
 
What kind of education do you have? What kind of stuff do you do what do you like to do? There are a lot of factors.
 
x2. write off as much as possible as business expenses. you can do some major deductions. but im with you though im not really self employed, i did get 1099'd and also owe money.
 
yep. youre right on that. nothing gets taken out automatically like those that are employees that receive w-2's. its all one big bill at the end
 
well i say have kids!!!!! they are a big write off. My wife stays home so i get to write her off too! Now dont get me wrong we struggle to survive. I make roughly 25000 a year on paper. I work side jobs a lot so that helps out a lot. (I install carpet by the way) But as far as taxes i got money back. I got 7500 this year. It helped us out with bills we had and i bought my wife a car so i could have the jeep as my toy. But ya man there are so many different deductions you can get. If you use you vehicle for work you can write that off. If you dont make that much money you also get a deduction for that also. You can also get deductions for upgrading things around the house. A coworker of mine usually pays around 8 to 9K back to taxes and he got 500 from federal this year because he put solar panals on his house along with solar heating. He also got new appliances to save on energy so he got that written off also. Then new double pane windows was another deductions. There are a lot of other things you can do for deductions...
 
oh ya i also forgot i claim me only on my w2. i like having a big check from taxes lol... but doing that they take more out of your check and then you get it back if you have kids. If you dont have kids but claim more then the IRS will want that money back. But for me i think of it as a savings account.

well the tax benefits of kids are not greater than the amount spent on them. $1500 per child credit isnt enough IMHO. :D

$7K back from taxes? wow! I make more than you do but I'm lucky if I get $3-4K back.

many ppl say that come tax time, you should owe $0 and get $0 back if you are smart and can work it out so that its balanced. I tend to have more taxes taken out of my paycheck so that I have a nice surprise and reason to splurge but its been a rough time.
 
Ya i have a really good tax guy he could not find any more tax cuts......Kids are out im only 22! I thought i was doing good having 10,000 saved for a house but now 6,000 is going to go for taxes! I know being self employed i have to take out money to put aside each year but i only made 26,000 and 6,000 went for taxes that seems like a lot. Can someone explain to me why you get a tax cut if your married?

Also i only have a few credits in college im more of a hands on guy and decided that college is not for me (at least i gave it a shot), that's why i became self employed. Any ideas would help!(Job Opportunities) Thanks for the feedback guys i just dont know what to do, my mom says that it gets easier but idk.
 
If your self employed making 26K and paying 6K in taxes, you need another accountant or financial planner.
 
I am self employed, i re dye leather upholstery in cars pretty much anything with leather or vynal but mostly higher end, mbz, bmw, audi, bently, and the occasional RR, but its hard to get clients, probably 90% of my work comes from 3 dealerships that i work for, i love my job but im finding it hard to make a good living out of it. I dont neccisarilly want a lot of money but i want to be able to afford my own house, it dosnt make sense to rent for me, thats why im just living at home trying to save as much money as i can.
