Wounded Warrior Build The Raptured Duck buggy

Actually we have been extremely busy. But we have gotten it back running and are almost ready to do a test run.

Further note obviously no one read the post from the previous owner of the axle, he confirmed if we couldn't use it to do what we liked with it. The proceeds from it purchased a prp seat and paid for the design of the handicap t handle.

It's cool though we aren't here to rock the boat, we are just a few present and past warriors trying to get our fellow brothers on the trail. We would like to have NAXJA and it's members be a part of that. we understand that a bad taste has been left, but that has been from other people assuming the worst with out contacting the source or having validation. We have corrected it by simply not even allowing donation of parts anymore. If you want to help, come do a run with us when we get done and offer an open seat to a warrior.

We will continue to update and will let you know when our test run will be.

i don't think anyone actually is wondering more just talking smack.

this build has great intentions, i applaud that. but from the pics and the posts it looks like nobody working on it has any clue at all what they're doing, and there is no plan for the build. everything they're doing makes no sense whatsoever, with the giving up of a trussed and setup for links d60 to truss and link a d35 being the icing on the cake.

sorry, but it's just too easy to make fun of. :dunno:

No we do t know what we are doing but it's half the fun. We might not be experienced In the Offroad world or have a solid design, but we are learning as we go. You might not understand it and we don't expect you to, at the end of the day the warriors working on it are happy with what they are building. That is why we chose to build it and not worry about what others think. A group of warriors are getting relief and having fun, if that means we are "stupid, retarded" then you missed the point of the build. We have always been open to suggestions, but seems all anyone offers is criticism. Which is fine we are thick skinned, but why not offer advice or a direction for us to find knowledge of where to take the build? We don't expect to make something capable to take in the hammers, just something built by warriors for warriors.

you want some advice? you're going to seriously injure someone by putting them in a built single seater buggy when they have no idea how to drive it. there's your advice from me.

While this may not be a scam, it makes me feel sad that a group of individuals that have no idea what they're doing can throw their veteran status around and get people and businesses to support them without at least listening to people who actually know what they're doing.

Seems like you can't plan ahead farther than your nose. How are you going to support trail rides? How are you going to get disabled people out of the buggy when it rolls?

Some very smart individuals (even if they're from Cali) have chimed in here to help you and you ignore them. You're going to get someone hurt and you're going to attach every veteran's name to it when you do it. Marines don't do that. I know because I am one.

So which is it?

Donated to us at the wounded warrior transition school. To big for our buggy build. Looking to sale it to help get a prosthetic made for tig welding. Pm me if interested, I have no set price. But do keep in mind this things set up for some hard crawling.

But when you can't keep your story straight, it really tends to make people assume the worst.

P.S. Also that D35 is going to go :explosion

Money delegation is not controlled by me, I'm not in charge of that. I simply post. A sand rail we built and sold has been paying for the design and adaption. Which we also have receipts and are tracked on.

Feel free to come by and see us in person, we would like to meet you and show what we are about. I can show you anything you would like to see, as well Answer any questions you might have.

As for organizing a run, I'm not personally n charge of that, feel free to offer advice on it. I will pass it along to Mr. Keys.

As for the advise on the build, like was stated we would like to ditch the 35, we are learning as we go. We haven't ignored any advice. We even used most of it. The triangle of the rear is simply a test, I personally agree putting them under the bottom brackets would be better.

As for hurting someone, It's a trail buggy simple trails only. All safety precautions are in place, seat 5 points, wireless kill switch, protective gear will be warn while driving. It will be tested by Mr. Keys before anyone will be taking it out.

We in courage the advice and welcome it, negative or positive. Just don't attack the warriors building it, it's the first time we have built anything like this. Mr. Keys is the adviser on the build and are following his direction.

We have been extremely busy with trying to get our testing accreditation from AWS and I with medical appointments-we haven't been updating. I personally will be busy for the next week with VA disability appointments, I will do my best to keep updating. We look forward to hopefully seeing you on the trails.

Is that a D30 in the front with 37" tires? You guys need to stop and set up a plan. Your intentions are good but you are going about the build in the wrong direction.

Start at the bottomg and work up. Not from the top down. You will not be able to keep u-joints and wheel bearings alive in that thing.

I won't even get into the D35 out back.

Love the negativity go NAXJA! so you don't like the build and you trash talk, didn't know I was reading pirate! why doesn't the peanut gallery start and complete a W.W. Build and show us all how it's done web warriors!

I appreciate the critique of sub par builds by the more experienced members here. People like me come to this site looking for ideas, and if bad ideas aren't called out, they get repeated and then I feel sad.

Negativity? Honestly I haven't read the entire thread, but if you think shelbyluv is trash talkin you're wrong. Or anybody else for that matter that is trying to offer experienced advise about how to build something that will work. He's saying want 99.9% of us are thinking. I didn't want to get involved, because I figured someone else would say it eventually (and I was right) and didn't want to get reamed for not supporting our troops or some dumb shit like that. As soon as I saw Dana 30 or Dana 35 and big buggy it's asking for disaster. Sure they can take it or leave the advise, but I think it's less about "not liking the build" and more of wanting to see this rig actually work. It would be kind of a downer for the warriors to be sitting on the trail in the seat while other dudes replace axle shafts every 15 minutes, then realizing the build is not up to the task of the tires, then just going home. And yeah, I understand you gotta start somewhere and learn. But it's much easier/cheaper to learn from OTHER people's mistakes then to learn from your own.

Says the guy who only shows up to trash talk NAXJA every 6 months or so.

Yup, I sure do. And NAXJA members keep giving plenty of ammo. It's way easier for the NAXJA forum to trash talk than be positive. It's why I'm not on here much anymore, bunch of negative Nancy web wheelers. Pirate for toddlers. :p:beer::D

I still <3 u.

If you think I am talking trash you are sadly mistaken. I want to see this work more than anyone. These are my "brothers" building this rig. I want them to enjoy every minute they use this rig. Not be repairing blown ujoints or axle shafts. What is going to happen when they snap a ujoint and knock both ball joints out in the middle of a trail? You are going to have a wounded warrior trapped in the rig until help arrives. I have snapped a ujoint and dropped both ball joints because of it. I was on 265s when it happened. I didn't even make it to the beginning of claw hammer.

I have been a Marine for 20+ years. I know what these guys are trying to do and I respect it. They need guidance and direction. The man teaching them has great intentions but doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing. If I was still in California I would be there every weekend helping.

Tizzy, please stop and set a plan on paper. You are wasting money and time building it the way you are.
