I think i would go less today if i was doing it again..Thats why the wifes is staying on 32...with only 4" of lift...So what would you do if you started over?
 
I would have built it huge to begin with instead of gradually getting there... make ur damn mind up to begin with!

I will be buying another XJ in Spring and get to do all the things I wanted to do on the first Cherokee. Long arm lift, 33" MT's, gearing, SYE, and a full compliment of hardware. Then I'm going to park it next to my first Jeep that the kid took and make him cry. Yeah, that'll teach the little punk.
 
keep it low nothing bigger than 5.5, 35's, swap out rear for something that can stomach 4.88's, wheel it slow and stick it in places where buggies think twice...... right now, im sitting on d44's 36's leaf springs full cage blah blah if i had a truck i wouldnt mind it but right now its still driven to the trail, flopped and broken, and then driven home....
 
i would have saved up and dumped all my moneyi nto my 88 at one time to stroke it, lower it and turn into a street beast.

but instead i divide my money between all the jeeps. (see sig)

I don't know... I do love it now, no doubt... but it's basically a trail rig only, sure, it can be driven to the trails, but is not a good DD anymore, which is unfortunate. If anything I might have stayed a bit lower, maybe 4" and 33s, I really liked that setup. Worked reasonably well on the street as well as being very capable offroad. Broke less then, too :rolleyes:...

Then again, I shoulda never touched the damn thing in the first place!! It was a perfectly good station wagon with 4wd...What's done is done, and overall...I don't regret it, Everything I've done to get the jeep to this point has been an amazing learning experience, and worth all the time, money, and effort it has taken. (which is quite a large amount!!)

I plan to do it again sometime mid next year when my brother gets home from El Paso..

If you're referring to me... thanks.. I built it and got to the point that the obsticles it couldnt make there was no way it would ever make... so, I did the buggy thing and it just was too easy, fun, but too easy and really made you try crazy/dangerous lines... I still wheel the WJ on small stuff and i'm planning on building another XJ starting next spring.

X2. What lift and tire size were you running 2 weeks after you bought it. That combo has a nice look to it.
